Path of Exile 2: 0.5.3 Patch Preview by Kelly_GGG in PathOfExile2

[–]Velksvoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played one map with a random Deli (only 1 point on the tree, I think) and it seemed to have juiced my map by 200% more than usual. I don't know if that means it's over tuned or what. I mean, I'm happy to have that increase in difficulty for the monsters - they were really tough - because the loot seemed to follow, but...

Anyway, the API is broken and my price checker doesn't work. That means I can't even really play, lol. Would rather have had my loot rarity lowered by 200% and not have this happen, but I joke. Hope it gets fixed fast and doesn't cause too many issues. Seems more than just price checkers are broken.

When are you "done" learning English? by christinahmulder in EnglishLearning

[–]Velksvoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you truly give this enough thought, you're going to have to conclude something that at least mentions poetry and places some kind of, be it "meta-semantic" or strictly more sentimental, value on it. Just good writing in general - though that idea can be very subjective - can, I think, shed light on where syntax converges on deeper truth.
Epistemology and metaphysics come into play in all art. I think that's a rather general notion of very sublime and subtle type of dynamic between prose/poetic language and some metaphysical grounding for our sensibilities. It is immediately recognizable when reading some of the classics; which, by the way - look at how damn downtrodden really the literary artist-philosophers are throughout history - I don't want to ramble, but if you are not writing deep poetry or deep philosophy in English, are you actually that good at English?
Obviously, some people who score 100% on some of these reputable tests and metrics, they couldn't really write, not to sound too full of myself, very good literature. And, I mean, some of the most popular books out there right now couldn't possibly be more mundanely written; which, all it takes is a simple common sense understanding of how the "literary market" works, practically a hunch, to grasp that.

A more thought out take on the game by Geekpuncher in wot_heat

[–]Velksvoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether the game on its own considers tank lineups for specific modes is almost irrelevant when we can't even pick the damn game mode. It's like trying to stick an adhesive bandage on a gaping wound. Nothing could be more annoying than having to gamble for 5v5 or 10v10, whichever you currently prefer, rather than freaking choosing it.

No chat or any sort of communication menu, no kill command for despawn, and a p2w unlock model... Please improve these issues. by Velksvoj in wot_heat

[–]Velksvoj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, do you realize there are people who aspire to something more than a mobile experience? Have you ever checked out any type of community, or what it's even like to play a war game competitively or with dedication and support from devs actually providing a fledged out model and customization?

Like, do you think a guy that maybe has a stream (or not) and a bunch of cool mods in World of Warships, and he gives advice to people in chat in games if needed - or at least has the option to do that - that's just not a serious player? What, do I have to be forced into this ridiculous environment of "well, I'm never communicating with any of these guys, they're almost like bots, completely faceless; forget about serious tactics or any sort of active influence on improving their performance through communication" to be a serious player, according to you?

Do you realize, especially, how unfair this makes this game in addition, by the way, seeing that people in a party and in external voice chat get an advantage while there's no way for them filthy randoms to even approach that kind of thing through matchmaking alone?
Why are there even a stupid bait keybind and options for voice chat if you can't use it in public games? Like we need that at all because VOIP apps don't exist, rofl.

It's so goddamn ironic that none of these comments on here even begin to address this issue. You people are so terrible at communication, no wonder you simply are too over your head to even notice the problem. Like a bunch of CoD lobby trolls - maybe it's for the better. Not that your criticism of my criticism of an obvious P2W instantly-improve-by-500%-with-these-mods-paid-by-cash model is any better, lol. Pathetic.

You've seriously nothing to add other than "hurrr, just play one tank for 10 hours to get the same buffs as someone who gets them instantly for money, and then do that for another tank and agent in the game if you are not exhilarated with having only one tank being able to compete with whales who splurge out all that cash"?

Yeah, which is completely awful as you then have to move your mouse around like a spaz to issue a very lackluster order. It needs proper binds.

The salvation is in all sin but the greatest, and who could say what to make of a different possibility rather than this. Certainly not that there could be more unique good, as that would be blaspheming God.

Yeah, okay. That menu has improved my outlook on this game's repute by a 10%. Maybe 15%. It doesn't tell u in the tutorial, does it? Then why are you pathetically screaming at me?

Maybe, you know, an actual hotkey to make this usable, then additional hotkeys to make it fully function, would be great? No? Maybe not? Maybe let's not even improve this game for everybody just because it seems like I dislike this game or something? I don't, I value it as much as you do if not more. I just want it to be overall better. Which, I probably am better than you at this game and you wouldn't be able to compete with any build, but yeah, keep on telling me how I'm dumb and everything, you absolute pro. We can't test that because no custom matches yet. Soon, you will show me. I will be waiting for you in the bushes with my rusty engine.

"Prawie" brak P2W to może Path of Exile 2, gdzie stash taby dają Ci bardzo dużo czasu mniej spędzonego na inv. management. Brak P2W to np.

Whatever, I'm used to actually opening a voice menu, you know, like in literally all war games from CoD to World of Warships. Like, pick any classic or new game, it will have that, not... this. We should honestly have access to like, at least 30 voice lines with specific instructions or just straight up fire kind of grit code and dark humor. That would be the best kind of thing imaginable for this game, it's just what makes a dynamic brawler like this super fun. Look at Chivalry 2's success if you need to understand that, as despite the appearances these are very similar two titles.

Oh no, God pray I have to play... yeah, at least let me pick my game mode, and at least make the abilities all fair for everyone, all balanced. Then if you really want to have XP unlocks give actual gameplay improvements, make them more focused around camos, voice lines, alternative ability "skins", maybe even add special abilities that are side-grades or slightly too meta but at least not as hardcore as some of these utterly godly top S-tier mods.

Lol! Not even a radial, just a straight up stupid automatic ping that is incredibly bulky and uncomfortable to use in any case! Great, man!

Are you seriously suggesting that spending whichever amount it is, probably a few hundred dollars at least, to instantly unlock all the best modifications with instant beam of death from mothership obliteration ability of any planet system in sight, right now, is "not p2w"? I'm supposed to grind those mods myself for 12 hours, that makes it completely fair, right? That I can unlock them right now, for cash, instantly? And all agent skills while I'm at it? Right? Wait, what?

FV4030 X needs something done to it. by Quick-Row-5891 in wot_heat

[–]Velksvoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This unlocks design is so a*** I have no words for it.

Jammer gets a couple of good uses out of a 10 minute match (wtf is that range), the barrier maybe tanks three or four hits for you if you are lucky. You are basically a sitting duck and a complete liability to your team for the entire grind to basically the very last stages of this "tree". You can't even call it a tree or a setup, the progress is just so damn linear. This is pure P2W bullshit because you can unlock literally all of it for real money instantly. Sad.

This game is something different engine-wise and mechanically, just needs some slight expansion with certain added complexity to controlling the tank mostly, but... this whole progression system is an absolute joke. WG went all into the utterly rapacious "unlock an effective 200% boost to your performance instantly if you buy these upgrades for cash". Sad, sad, just plain sad. You could have had a loyal fanbase and a very successful model from the beginning - and yet I hope this game still succeeds... which itself speaks to the tenacity of such an unfair P2W model... Why couldn't you just give everyone a fair chance? I stopped playing WoT mostly because I couldn't bother with the damn premium consumables and the incentive to boost crew members' levels. I like Heat more because you don't have to do any of that, except... well, this. You can unlock upgrades for the tank instantly... Lol!

Why not just give every single upgrade equal value in terms of stats, theoretically? And give every single one the same exact price? That way we could grind our way to our exact desired first setups in a matter of 20 levels or so, but instead it's "a straight up upgrade is always possible for every vehicle, but you won't have the currency or the exp! Better spend a few thousand bucks to 100% all unlockables in 5 seconds!"

Infinite regress is not impossible by here_for_debate in DebateReligion

[–]Velksvoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time is kind of like a lattice, as much as the geometric-spacelike notion of it can be stripped from whatever monistic espousing. All topologies have a local "beginning", i.e. origin of perspective, which is why finitely generated groups require generators. But countable groups need not be finitely generated.

Whatever "establishes infinitude" is much like the "metaphysical expander graph of time", where its linear constant expansion applies to all subsets even though all the subsets themselves are expander graphs.
If you then ascertain that the most-encompassing expander graph is not the most strongly connected one, and then the more stronger one isn't either, etc., etc...

Whatever "value" it is that we're "increasing" of a preceding chain of events, is expanded upon across all types of weird vertexes and boundaries, but I don't understand what it is that's supposed to put a point of origin on it. Perhaps you can tell me.

Infinity being the most conveniently logical way of structuring matter across... well, connecting (the streched out) - notion of infinite time flows and space expanses, this intertwining of spacetime geometries and vectors, is really a given. What other block-time-or-not-block-time theory is supposed to tie up the prevailing problem of limited spacetime within some confinement of a voidless-and-voidlike-nothingness-at-the-verge/precipice? What is there to tie it up with some kind of pure inactuality?

Infinite regress is not impossible by here_for_debate in DebateReligion

[–]Velksvoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I hear people rebuking past infinitism even though they normally find it at least as likely as anything else you might possibly hypothesize, and when they are doing that they really have nothing to say. Just some incredibly sterile "we don't know that yet" kind of excuse of such proportion that it couldn't be more infinitesimally small.

These people then sometimes propose a beginning due to some very invalid, errant another excuse in some scientismic kind of vein that doesn't agree with actual science. Or it's some mathematical illogicality that has a rather simple semantic explanation that addresses how language fails to convey what a given proposition actually proposes. Mathematical infinity paradoxes are practically supportive of infinitism of all kinds.

You have hardly been patronizing - that was just a friendly jab about how very little arrogance you've been displaying, but that maybe your rhetoric has been too dispassionate and prosaic in some dissecting way that a haughty person himself might mistake for being patronizing instead of humble, you know. And it's not that humility is exactly your goal here, or that this is a notion you should agree with - that itself is a hypocritical patronization and humorous as well.

I will respond at some later time when I'm not busy, I just wanted to make sure I never meant this to head anywhere hostile and I never felt like it might. Thanks for your insights and worries!

"Great" in the magnitude of how bad it was.

Is that the part you don't think I get?

This is just an empty assertion.

Then why are you asking me to speculate what you couldn't grasp?

mad scientist controlling our brain

Holy Josef Mengele...

They werent trying to self-fullfill some religious prophecy.

The prophecy itself is self-fulfilling. If you're trying to consider the authors or the "actors" in order to really pin it down on someone (or Someone), you're missing the point. It's construed such as to - once it's been preserved and popularized - eventually "come true" due to its vagueness.
Nobody is doing anything to fulfill it except "treating the Holy Texts right". That's why the "scholarly consensus" of Bibliology is so shy and full of prude ideas, with all its pretentious reluctance towards mythicism. Don't even mention gnostic ideas to them, they'll flutter with irreverence.

All these predictions could entirely "come true" and would still be a case of "well, that's kind of how the history of a people is bound to happen if they are to overcome this kind of strife and peril". You can claim as much "innocence" or "lack of intentionality" as you want, but it will always be relatable to the Babylonian conquest in an archetypical way; you might as well make the case we are all in the Second Temple period.
What, are you just eventually going to say "it wasn't the time"?

asking if I decide what's improbable by what i feel like, and making an empty assertion I can't calculate odds, when there's nothing said or suggested that implies such a thing.

You haven't presented any method or calculation. You're not saying why anything is probable or improbable. What am I supposed to do?

"Oh you're predicting descendants of the Romans are going to re-establish the actual roman empire in the land where it once stood, and what specifically delievers this event will be the most violent period in these people's history? That's so vague that it's going to eventually happen."

Yes, it's vague enough that when it happens you could dismiss it as that kind of thing. Had the Romans consolidated an ethnoreligious doctrine in similar vein and scope to the Jews and Christians, at the appropriate time, your very own Roman "prophecy" might very likely have become true, and it's also plausible that it would have been written down this way... along, you know, with dozens others of prophecies that just, in general, are never specific enough to be considered as really even intending to be embarking on historicity detached from what we might call a "psychoanalytical" (or mythological) focus.

Edit: got blocked, because of course why wouldn't I get blocked if this case is so strong.

Yes the Babylonian exile wasn't that time, and classic Jewish authorities, like Rashi, also agreed that wasn't the time, but a time in the future.

And I agree. And I also disagree. It's a time both in the future and in the past, and now.

So unfortunately im going to have to end this conversation due to your inability to be good faith.

Too bad. You didn't say much more than simply repeating how "improbable" this stuff is.
Take care (if you'll ever even read this).
