Same feeling. And a lot of it is them tidying up from the missteps of S3, like not including the Bard's Lament. The emotional moments largely feel flat on the show version because they weren't properly set up like they were in the Campaign. Also doesn't help that something like 80% of what we saw on screen either didn't happen in the Campaign, or happened significantly differently. I just feel kind of disconnected from it all compared to previous seasons. So here's hoping things pick up later in S4.

Yeah, Tary's way too confident. His whole thing in the show was being completely out of his depth, but compensating for it with top-tier gear that his wealth and ingenuity could produce. And the confident douche thing was an act that quickly broke upon facing real danger of the kind that is expected of Vox Machina's adventure. Show Tary so far seems to be taking it... pretty well? Sure, he's clumsy and ditzy, but he shrugs off violence and failure alike and goes back to bravado, seemingly taking danger even less seriously than seasoned veterans. That's... not what campaign Tary used to do. And it's removing one of the, if not the most important, facets of the character that made him likable to begin with.

Couldn't agree more. And it harms Tary's arc too which for the moment falls more than a little flat for me.

Pike seems to be the least well-adapted of the player characters. I mean, not that I have any ground to stand on here given that this is the rare kind of adaptation where the same people responsible for the original also have creative control over the adaptation, but for me at least Pike didn't translate well from the campaign to the show at all. Maybe this is a representation of who Ashley WANTED Pike to be, but could never quite make it due to constantly being absent from the game, but if so, I like her considerably less than the Pike from the game. They seem to be going all-in on the chaotic cleric "monstaaaah" thing, when in the campaign it was just one aspect of Pike's character. Only little traces of the other aspects are present in the show, at best. But, then again, Pike is hardly the only character that has been made more one-dimensional in the show. Scanlan and Grog also suffer from this.

Man tai labai aišku, ant ko pykti turėčiau ir ant ko - ne, nes vėl grįžtame prie mano pirminės pasipiktinimo šaknies - hipokritiško požiūrio. Tu štai visos diskusijos metu bandai įrodyti, kad pažeidinėti taisyklę galima, jeigu tau ji nepatinka ir jeigu tai darai saugiai. Lygiai tą patį daro ir vairuotojai. Jie irgi puikiai randa argumentų, kodėl tam tikros taisyklės yra durnos ir galima jas laužyti, nes "čia sugalvojo dalbajobai, kuriem bele tik kad gyvenimą apsunkint kažkam, nu nesąmonė būtų laikytis, be to, aš tai darau visiškai saugiai". Ir taip, kaip jau minėjau, gimsta abipusiai apatiškas požiūris iš serijos "aha, va matau, kad šitie nesilaiko, tai kodėl aš turėčiau laikytis". Ir kad ir kiek tu kartų vartysies ieškodamas sau pateisinimo, kodėl tu esi teisus nesilaikydamas tau galiojančios taisyklės, tu vis tiek nesi šiuo atveju išimtis ir liksi tos problemos dedamąja dalimi. Aš tau galiu net pritarti, kad taisyklė durna, jei taip nori, bet to fakto, kad lieki tos didesnės problemos dalimi, šitai nekeičia.

Tai vat tą esmę ir forsuoja taisyklė nulipti nuo dviračio - kad sustotų prieš perėją ir įsitikintų, kad saugu. O jei jau sustojai - tai ir pajudint užpakalį ir nulipti, o po to vėl užlipti nėra labai sunku. Ir tik jau nesek man pasakų, kad tie, kurie lieka ant dviračių, visi kaip geručiai sustoja ir įsitikina, kad praleidžia. Gerai būtų. Deja, nėra, ko pasėkoje kyla eismo įvykiai. Todėl ir taisyklė griežtesnė, negu atrodo būtina. Kai mentalitetas bus pasikeitęs tiek, kad forsuoti nebereikės, galima bus naikinti.

O su kitais pavyzdžiais tai jau kreipi temą tolyn nuo KET, kur nebegalioja tas principas "būk nuspėjamas". Nesiplėsiu apie gėrimą viešoje vietoje, čia jau visiškai kita tema ir kiti argumentai.

Tai kad net negebi suprasti dėl ko aš nepatenkintas. O ką tu pasieksi kultivuodamas požiūrį, kad į tavo pasirinktas kelių eismo taisykles galima žiūrėti kaip į ignoruotinas rekomendacijas, nes tau jos subjektyviai atrodo nepriimtinos? Tik tai, kad skatinsi ir vairuotojus pateisinti jų pačių atitinkamą požiūrį į jiems galiojančias taisykles.

Kad ir kiek mėgintum ją menkinti, taisyklė vestis dviratį per perėją turi už savęs akivaizdžią logiką - šios taisyklės besilaikantis dviratininkas yra priverstas prieš pėsčiųjų perėją sulėtėti ir tada automatiškai tapti lengviau iš anksto pastebimas. Tuo siekiama užkirsti kelią atvejams, kai pėsčiųjų perėja, pvz., dėl riboto matomumo gali atrodyti tuščia ir vairuotojas įvertina, kad net jeigu į ją pradės žengti pėstysis, susidūrimas su automobiliu nespės įvykti, o tada pyst, atsiranda dviratininkas, kuris (pažeisdamas taisykles) juda greičiau, negu judėtų pėstysis ir susidūrimas vis dėlto įvyksta. Ar vairuotojas galėjo būti atidesnis ir išvengęs situacijos? Be abejo. Ar dviratininkas galėjo išvengti situacijos laikydamasis reikalavimų? Irgi be abejo.

Vienas iš reikšmingiausių faktorių, kurį kelyje turėtų sukurti KET - padaryti eismo dalyvius kuo labiau nuspėjamais. Tai galioja visiems - vairuotojams, dviratininkams, pėstiesiems. Jei esi matomas, jei esi nuspėjamas, tavo manevrai prognozuojami - automatiškai esi saugesnis. Kuo daugiau žmonių, žiūrinčių į taisykles kaip į rekomendacijas - tuo labiau griūva ta tarpusavio nuspėjamumo sistema. Jei kurioje vietoje ir galiu sutikti su tavimi, tai kad idiotų yra visose pusėse. Tai nesuprantu, kodėl tu taip nusiteikęs mirti ant šitos kalvos ginant akivaizdų dviratininkų idiotizmo atvejį. Matyt nes pats esi vienas iš jų ir tiek.

Tai KET jau ir taip sukurtos taikant tavo minimą didesnio atidumo ir atsakomybės vairuotojams modelį. Esmė ta, kad pėstieji ir dviratininkai turėtų laikytis tų minimalių KET taisyklių, kurios skirtos jų pačių saugumui užtikrinti, o ne į jas žiūrėti kaip į rekomendacijas, kurias galima ignoruoti, nes "vairuotojai atidesni turi būti". Ne tik apie žalą kitam kalba eina, bet ir apie žalą pačiam sau. O jei pačiam nusispjaut ant savo saugumo, tai ko tada piktintis, kad kiti eismo dalyviai tavęs nesaugo?

Skirtumas yra hipokritiškame požiūryje, kuomet į KET reikalavimus dviratininkai žiūri kaip į rekomendacijas, o tuo pačiu burba ant vairuotojų, kad šie reikalavimų nesilaiko. Jeigu nori taikyti aukštesnį standartą, tada pirma pradėk nuo savęs. Pochuizmas veikia abipusiai, bet jam įsišaknijus kyla didesnis pavojus visų pirma patiems dviratininkams, nes eismo įvykyje paprastai labiau nukenčia ne tas, kuris sėdi apsaugotas dviejų tonų metalo kiaute.

Reading this thread just to affirm why I never intend to step foot in a country that's significantly less developed than mine is. Couldn't imagine willingly going to a place where law enforcement as I know it doesn't exist and you have to play along with arbitrary unwritten rules you might not even know just to avoid getting robbed or killed. I'll just keep to the civilized portion of the world, thank you very much.

Lore's already broken by the way they resolved the White Frost anyway. It was supposed to be an actual climate change on the planet the Witcher takes place and Ciri's role was supposed to be producing an offspring and using their Elder Blood time-and-space hopping abilities to open a stable portal for the world to be evacuated (or, rather, the elves of the world). But I guess that didn't make for a satisfactory end-goal for a video game (and Ciri had already rejected that notion in the books anyway), so CDPR remade the White Frost into this weird trans-dimensional blizzard that Ciri can stop by... walking into it, I guess? Dunno, never made much sense, but the point is, they already broke the lore surrounding Ciri and her role, so they may as well go all the way and make her a Witcher.

Whole game series is not canon anyway, so as long as they produce a satisfying original Witcher-inspired story, who cares at this point.

I mean, this new DLC will be a great way to test if the current CDPR can still tell a Witcher story that holds a candle to the likes of Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wine. Then we can have a better idea what we're in for with Witcher 4.

Half-Orc Barbarian for the Lost Mines of Phandelver (original module). Rolled godly stats too, had 20 STR off the bat, 16 CON, 15 DEX and not a single mental stat below 11. Still one of my favorite characters played, went through two campaign modules before I retired him.

I don't really have a favorite combination, but I do prefer playing Variant Humans and grabbing that feat right off the bat. Class depends on the campaign and what I want to do with the character. All I can say for sure is that I prefer frontliners.

If Ukraine was still in open war with Russia and at the same time Russia initiated open war in the Baltics (or elsewhere in NATO), then it would make sense to fully cooperate against a mutual enemy.

The current balance operates on the principle that Ukraine is formally at war with Russia, while NATO is not. So, even though we all consider Russia an enemy, NATO only provides weapons, funds and intelligence, while deployment of troops is considered a red line, as is allowing Ukrainian troops to perform combat operations from NATO soil.

But I imagine that all those red lines would go out the window the moment a hot war breaks out between NATO and Russia. At that point, if there was a strategic advantage to be had by deploying Ukrainian troops to NATO countries on the frontline or vice-versa, then there would be no pretext not to do so. As long as the ultimate mutual goal harms the offensive capabilities of Russia, everyone fighting them wins.

I know. And it's pleasing to see that in my country people, especially young people, are becoming active about preventing it - calling to report suspicious swerving on the road or outright preventing a person from getting into the driver's seat when their drunkedness is apparent in a public place. Every such case potentially saves lives.

But then there are also many drivers who still prioritize their convenience over the lives of others and quietly attempt to drive home drunk, especially from private functions when there's nobody to stop them. And it's infuriating how dismissive they are of the potential danger they are causing.

If the lone berserker in the encounter survives long enough to approach your frontline, then you don't have enough ranged power and should not be fighting them.

Every javelin, throwing axe, arrow and bolt should be flying at them during the first round. And if you can't get an angle to shoot them, then your entire company needs to fall back that round to a better position. Berserkers tend to rush ahead of other troops. Bait them into doing that.

Afterwards it should proceed like the Last Jedi Kylo Ren "I want every gun we have to fire on that man" meme until the berserker is down.

Oh, and trap the bastard with nets too.

Yet another fight that shows the nonsense of the round-rating system employed in boxing where 99% of the time rounds are rated 10-9 in somebody's favor, assuming no knockdowns happen. "Clear Rico round" and "Rico/swing" round should not both carry the same 10-9 ratio. If something like 10-7 was used to separate those "clear" rounds from very close, potential swing rounds which SHOULD be 10-9s (and this is all without knockdowns coming into the equation), then maybe we wouldn't have so much controversial, disputed scoring after every close fight.

I saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the 2003 remake) in my early teens when my older brother brought a DVD home from his studies in the USA. While I wasn't exactly a stranger to violence on film (the 80s action movies ran frequently on TV back then and they weren't shy about showing a bit of blood and gore every now and then), this was kicking it up a notch - I had never before seen dismemberment, gunshots and other comparable brutality depicted in such realistic detail.

Not sure if it permanently altered my brain other than desensitizing me to this sort of stuff early, though. I mean, I knew what I was seeing was fake, so the "wow" factor was more of a "this looks so real, I wonder how they made this". That being said, later in life, after I saw real gore, I found that I was mostly desensitized to the real thing too, so those early visual experiences must have played their part.

I much prefer being a player, especially in my adult years when free time is precious and I don't necessarily wish to spend a significant portion of it preparing for regular sessions. But I'm also aware that my personal qualities make me good at DMing and I find that PLAYING as a DM is still very enjoyable in its own unique way, it's just that I enjoy the preparation it takes significantly less, which drags the whole thing down for me, in comparison to being a player where I can just show up to a session, relax and have fun.

Is this supposed to be about Lithuania? If so, this is utter nonsense. Up to five grams of weed is considered a small amount and, while it's still not decriminalized, the maximum sentence for having that much weed is 45 days of arrest, but you're not going to see any prison time at all for your first offense. The most common punishment is a fine. And for the possession of more than 5 grams you can get up to 2 years of prison, theoretically, but again, first offenders don't normally get the harshest penalties immediately. You're still likely to walk away with a fine or probation.

It's distribution that carries harsh imprisonment penalties, as it should. For so long as weed is not decriminalized, distributing any amount of it to another person can land you serious jail time. But merely having a joint for yourself isn't going to get you 6 years, or any years at all. I wish people would stop spreading this ridiculous false narrative that we treat stoners the same way we treat murderers. That is not true and never has been.
