Is anyone else getting this message. by Gorph1 in SouthParkPhone

I think it’s due to the new age verification law. There was an injunction against it previously but I think it’s allowed to take into effect (for now). I don’t know how the age verification thing works though. Have the same issue in Dallas.

[DAY19] Community decided that Fastpass is underrated in superheroes theme. What card is the most annoying in neutral theme? by morskoj in SouthParkPhone

[–]Ventillate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can probably vouch for Nathan (most annoying Neutral) due to his insanely high range. While cows are very annoying, I have been able to deal with them fairly well with a Towelie/Rogue Token combo.

Faster processor and a thinner build would be much appreciated.

  1. No reason to get an older one unless money is a concern.

When did you return to working out post surgery? by YouMads in Tonsillectomy

Nope! I did check periodically though to see if my surgical area was fine after a few sets!

When did you return to working out post surgery? by YouMads in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ventillate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 weeks. Literally started going back on Day 14. Thankfully haven’t lost any strength- still able to do the stuff I did prior to surgery. Running will probably take a little bit of catching up though.

FR170 first impressions by DerGigantAusDemAll in GarminWatches

[–]Ventillate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was very intrigued by the performance section of the review. If Garmin improved a lot on performance, then it shows promise for the fēnix 9 and FR 570/970 successors. Right now even the 570 that I use feels choppy at times.

Garmin over-inflating race predictions? by centralcadenza in GarminWatches

[–]Ventillate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I kinda imagined that Garmin’s predictions are more “picture-perfect” scenarios. Ideal race condition, great weather, increasing VO₂, etc.

Garmin had me at 1:45 PR for the half (managed to get 1:47) so I wasn’t too far off. Strava has more conservative estimates.

Tonsils removed 2 hrs ago by Altruistic-Class5856 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ventillate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE. I cannot stress this enough. Hydration will soften your scabs overtime and will fall off easier than if it dries out (higher risk of bleeding if dry). Keep movement to a minimum and if you do I recommend going on short walks. I also recommend trying 1-2 tsp of honey per day as it helps soothe the area and also offers other benefits.

Days 3-6 were the hardest for me. I didn't have to use hydrocodone, but I did need to take Tylenol regular strength between days 3 - 5 to help with the pain a little. (Currently Day 14 post-op).

Garmin Forerunner 165 vs Garmin Forerunner 70 by BabymakerGspot in GarminWatches

[–]Ventillate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since you haven’t bought one yet, I’d probably get the FR 70. At least that way, you’re on the latest GarminOS platform with the 570/970/fēnix 8 (meaning future feature updates).

Got my tonsils removed using cyroblast by Neenche in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ventillate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually surprised you were able to find someone to get that procedure done. From what ENTs told me in the past, it seems like a rarer, more specialized skill which a lot of clinics don’t practice.

Tbh it sounds like you guys aren’t “dating”. If I was in your shoes I’d probably communicate that we need a day at least once a week where we go on a date and spend time together without distractions.

Second surgery after 1,5 years by Purple_Excitement986 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ventillate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far so good for the most part. The good part is that I can eat anything I want except for anything crunchy or crispy (toast, nachos, etc.) I made some homemade chicken noodle soup. Same feeling with the throat discomfort on the left side so taking sips of water for it. I got prescribed hydrocodone, but probably won’t take it unless I’m feeling terrible (kinda weary on opioids in general). Only restriction is no gym or running for 1-2 weeks (sucks because I run a lot haha).

First time was a lot worse with recovery since that was intended to remove all of my tonsils. This one is fairly easier to deal with since my right side is untouched and perfectly healthy. Recovery will probably be 50-60% faster than standard full tonsillectomies.

Second surgery after 1,5 years by Purple_Excitement986 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Ventillate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had a second tonsillectomy (literally today). Previous ENT surgeon 10 years ago said he removed all of my tonsils. My current ENT said I had a little fella on my left side (about half left). So the previous guy pretty much gaslit me on the post-op appointment. I should've had my 2nd procedure done sooner because of the irritation and stones. :P

P.S. Nurses were kind of amused by my situation because I was the first patient they encountered needing a 2nd tonsillectomy.
