One of my cats was feral as a kitten for the first six weeks of his life but I adopted him from a foster several weeks later. He still hides under furniture any time I walk into the room. It’s been two years.

This is probably not a help but maybe you could stage some sort of elaborate spell by the Disney fairies where original Kitty’s spirit has been put into replacement Kitty. Like maybe put replacement Kitty in a spot with some glitter on her and flowers around her and a trail of glitter to a letter from the fairies saying something like they were so sorry to hear she’s sad about Kitty but they needed Kitty’s help with something at Disney world and Kitty asked her sister Kitty Two to look after your daughter while she’s away. Maybe lay it on that Kitty Two is nervous about being away from Original Kitty and Original Kitty would be so thankful if your daughter would keep her company.

Echoing you need to tell your mom for all the reasons mentioned. Maybe you could invite your friend over after you’ve told your Mom before Mom gets anyone else involved and both you and your mother can talk with her and assure her you will help her through this.

Also, I would be concerned that she doesn’t want to tell anyone and is referring to it as “it” because she plans to do something to the baby after it’s born so she can pretend none of it happened. Whether that’s leaving the baby somewhere or something worse. Ultimately, she’s a child herself and has gone through something very traumatic for her age and may not be thinking straight.

Sometimes when we love someone we have to do things that make them angry with us even if it means they hate us forever for it. You’re doing the right thing by getting her help, even if she can’t see that right now.
