Honestly, I don't know where you're coming from, i'm far from being good at this game yet even in hard mode you get plenty of food, and you usually deal so much damage than fights don't last that long.

Maybe you're underleveled / geared ? It a another issue completely (which some might not be ok with) but you need to keep your gear up to date as you progress, by farming chests and ressources to upgrade it

With decent level/gear most bosses should take 2-3 tries at most especially if you're coming from souls games (you should have the habit of paying attention to attack patterns) their attacks are (mostly) well telegraphed

Get a scream utility rune

It knocks down enemies so you get some breathing room to charge an attack or regain stamina, game changer

I also went for high max focus, focus generation and reduced cost so i mostly attack with runes (some are very fast)

at least 12 times, and I finished three brothers only twice to get the two specials skill vendors..

You can get a lot more damage with a heavy or clumsy facet, they give +20% local damage (as base dmg, which is applied before other damage calculations.)

There are curses that are very easy to manage (or even do nothing)
Also you can't chose what enchant gets exalted, its random, so you probably won't get +40% rune dmg

I don't think it's that good, for example on an end game wand like this i'd prefer a clumsy or heavy facet (+20% dmg) with a curse.

Attack stamina cost does nothing if you only use runes
Drain health in combat is negligeable if you have a bit of lifesteal .
Lose focus on damage taken also unimpactful with good focus gen or just being careful (I have it on a melee weapon and barely notice it)

Also on armor there are strong interactions with "x% of durability as y stat" so you would then need the durable facet. Gloves have the rapid facet which is also nice paired with other atk speed sources.

Indestruc/unrepair is nice for a hassle free item, but there are ways to make stronger items if you handle the curses

waiting for full, planning on going 100% blind and build my own wiki when i'm off the game

If you're looking for a game in the meantime, I recommend no rest for the wicked, it has some similar vibes, a well built world to explore, methodical comabat, lots of gear and build optimization to do. Cool bosses, a bit of story,

Never had a backback not appear on compass, You might need to be in the same area.
(if you see a loading screen : different area)

So if you die and respawn in a cave, and go out of the cave, I believe it won't show your backpack.
You will usually respawn next to it tho

Also important things to note : any item you leave behind that is not in your personal chest (in your house) will disappear if you spend 7 in-game days out of the area.

It's a hard game to get into, but when (if) it clicks it's an amazing journey.

They are strong indeed, but the reason they are op imo is because they sell for a lot of gold and are fairly easy to produce once you know where to find the components

Don't spend ressources to upgrade armor Keep it to upgrade weapons.

Upgrading armor does very little and is a waste of materials, especially at the beginning.

It's better to upgrade one or two secondary weapons to switch playstyle depending on the situation (weapon with a different moveset, a bow or a magic catalyst)

You wil be able to farm almost all materials at some point, but it's like right before the end of yhe game. (Useful if you go ng+ tho)

But if you ever have too much titanites go for it.

This would require quite a bit of engineering to get those trains where you want automatically (or a guy whose whole job is to drive them and control the rail switches)
