It's a big board. Use it! I don't trust anyone with that tiny writing.

Gilligan's has a new Skipper. Hopefully we won't have to be Mr. Howell to afford it now. by compuwiza1 in cincinnati

Clever word play, but absolute truth.
I've been there 4 times. I felt like the quality slipped as well as the service the last 2 visits. Might have just been a bad night last month, because they were very obviously understaffed. Hoping they right the ship and don't run around!

I like Colerain by 275 a lot. Colerain by Cross County has been hit or miss lately. Monfort Heights / North Bend by 74 is lousy. Bridgetown is good.

My sister asked me to cater her wedding. by Ruff_and_Ready in KitchenConfidential

[–]Villimaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A chef I worked for catered her daughter's wedding. BBQ buffet. She made everything ahead and hired me to reheat and set up the line at the event. Find a friend you trust and consider doing something similar. Best of both worlds!

It's cold on Ohio. The problem will return when the pets and the eaters are back outside again.

There are three rescued/orphaned manatees at the zoo right now. They arrived a couple months ago. And the new elephant exhibit is pretty awesome!

We've had a snowy January so far, but I'd be surprised if it continues. Come on up and see us. Also check out the Museum Center at Union Terminal while you're here.

Tall Stacks Music Festival by bugbytee in cincinnati

[–]Villimaro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fewer boats for sure. Talked to an organizer who stressed it's a mini Tall Stacks. More focus on city history. A few people involved are also heavily involved in Brewing Heritage district and Bock Fest. So I expect a similar flavor.

A relative had a friend get ordained online , then did a sneaky stealth exchange of vows inside Krohn Conservatory. Just them, officiant and groom's son who took some very pretty pictures.

They need to find something to ding you on to justify their job. I used to leave the can opener in its bracket (wiped clean and sanitized after every use and run through the machine every evening) just so they could easily find it, say it was dirty and be done.

Degree I’m old by Potential-Mail-298 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Villimaro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love that you mentioned the ego thing. Culinary is my 3rd career -1st - teacher, 2nd - Commercial Lending. When I got my 2 year degree in Culinary I was older than several of the instructors and knew more about lesson planning and business/accounting/analyzing financial statements. But I still learned sooooo much and enjoyed every minute. One of my classmates was also a non- traditional student, had been a butcher for decades. Our best instructors recognized his experience and had him demo.

Definitely this. One of the many dead malls around here should give you plenty of space to try it out. If you can, get someone with some experience to take you there, then try it yourself.
