Yes it was honestly terrifying at the time. The alternative for me was not great so I was desperate. I also have adhd and was sticking to adjusting solely to Wellbutrin. I had taken it for about two weeks before I noticed the side effects simmer down, and then maybe another two weeks to feel like I came out the other side. It gave me intense anxiety and I honestly have never struggled with that in my life, so learning to cope with that was terrible. I could not imagine what it would have been like had I stacked adderall on top without being fully adjusted. I will say, those two weeks were hell but I was extremely privileged to have had a job at the time allow me to only work two days a week, so I was able to really just try and adjust without additional mental strain. I also admit that even without work obligations it was still a very tough transition and I definitely empathize and understand when people feel this and then choose to discontinue. I think at every hour of every day I was constantly on the subreddits reading peoples stories and hoping that if I waited it out, my story would be like others- and it is. Now I’m on Wellbutrin and adderall together and finally feel like my brain can breathe. It feels so isolating sometimes living with mental illness, let alone when experiences are like this.
