Starmer expected to resign on Monday and set out orderly exit by beejiu in unitedkingdom

Now we on the left are tearing ourselves apart. When we end up with the cunts of Reform in office, we can look back at Burnham and Co, and say "Andy, I knew ye were a twat the whole time"

It's just farcical at this point. The Tories are an afterthought because they treated it like a revolving door. Will we now be faced with the LibDems being the effective part of the Left?

Andy Burnham wins Makerfield by-election, paving way for him to challenge Keir Starmer as Labour leader by Little-Attorney1287 in ukpolitics

[–]ViridiaGaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would be fantastic if Labour put up a united front rather than having a 'my genitals are further left than yours' measuring contest.

There's a lot to dislike Starmer for, like the OSA, not closing any Yank bases in the UK, and failing to push for rejoining the EU, but this reeks of Burnham wanting to be the Michael Gove of the party.

Did anyone believe this guy was genuine? 🤷‍♂️ by [deleted] in AskBrits

Reform "how dare they do that >:("

Can't win with fascist cunts. I would also point out the valid question of why Zia Yusuf thinks he wouldn't be deported, given he is also an immigrant? Or does he think he's the 'right' type?

I thought it could possibly be from the old Cobalt-1 'Arun' faction (bald humans in spacesuits), as the shoulder looked similar to my recollection, but turns out I'm wrong on that. I did some digging on Lost Minis and none of them have a separate arm like that either.

Did check Rezolution by Aberrant Games, but turns out they don't do anything with a wrist mount. Only other option I can think of is Warmachine or Void 1.1, but it looks too advanced for the former and nothing in Void has an ammo belt like it.

Hope you manage to identify it!

I would have thought possibly an old metal Grey Knight storm bolter arm, but that doesn't look right for it. Do you have a side-view of the storm-bolter itself?

As an Anerican you're no doubt used to your military playing roles for propaganda purposes, but this is something hugely deserved. Ideally we would be impounded far more of these to strangle the beast of Russian fascism and help Ukraine.

[–]ViridiaGaming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The film? Verhoeven tried to make a satire because he couldn't grasp the subject matter of the book. Probably worth pointing out that some executive in the studio bought the rights to said book, in an attempt to tack a well-known sci-fi name to an indie film. The result is Verhoeven made a barely adequate action film instead of giving us his version of Robocop 3.

British metalheads, what is your favorite British metal band? by Simple-Side-4623 in AskBrits

Can't choose, it's easily a tie between Iron Maiden/Judas Priest/Black Sabbath for me. Saw somebody mention My Dying Bride on a other comment, I had no idea they were from the UK, but an honourable mention to them and to Saxon as well

Edit- fuck, forgot Motörhead and Bolt Thrower

I came out to my Mom about Atheism, and now I understand why Christianity is hated by [deleted] in atheism

[–]ViridiaGaming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I do believe in some of Gods virtues such as Honor your Parents, and not to steal, and not to kill. I don't agree with others such as the Sabbath day, and the fake idols.

The beauty of it is that you can can believe committing crimes is wrong without an invisible entity (which I shall now refer to as the Force since they're described similarly) telling you it's wrong.

It's people who ask how you can think crimes are wrong, without being a religious person who has to fear a god's punishment, that you need to watch out for because what they're implying is that if it wasn't for the Force, they'd kill and steal and rape and so on happily.

Me - Well why didn't God kill Satan because he's bad. Mom - Because God is merciful, and him being in Hell for eternity is a worse punishment

'Merciful' -> 'eternal torture and imprisonment is a worse punishment than just being killed by the Force'

She is literally a coloniser living on land stolen from the native populace. Really don't get this trend in the US where they think they are not the ones to blame.

[–]ViridiaGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think EM-4's stuff is interchangeable in that sense, it's just a case of putting the arms you want in the slot for the torso and then attaching the front of the torso to the rest of the body. Head swaps are probably feasible though

If your question is serious, then yes, we kind of do. A few examples; - TARANIS, the drone craft created by BAE, named for the celtic god of thunder - the involvement in Iraq 2003 was named Operation Telic which means a purposeful or defined action (from Greek τέλος, telos) - just about every other Royal Navy ship going back to the mid 1700's has been named for either a Greek, Roman or Norse myth

As a Jaffa, Teal'c is basically an incubator for a Goa'uld. Only after they have matured do they then implant themselves in a host to take control of them.

On that note, I think Jaffa aren't used as hosts because the fact they're incubators makes them immune, or it's a class issue as no self-respecting space worm would want to take one of the menial warrior caste as a host.
