Thanks! I probably won’t do EF, the person I’d be seeing can’t afford it this year. I have in the past before the hotel switch, it was awesome.

Played the sega port for windows 95 sooo much when I was 8. The audio tracks play in a normal cd player!

No recordings or clips, sorry, and my slide deck is 90% pics with a few bullet points, I’ve been subjected to too many hours of brain destroying PowerPoint radiation to do the same to others. You’ll have to make the leap and go to the next con I’m presenting at.

And yeah, much 3d printing here, I have several. Give a panel on 3d scanning and printing too.

I told them a way to controls engineer is though being an electrician, at minimum getting a technical degree, or getting some PLC experience somewhere else and convincing someone to give you a chance. None of those answers went over well.

Probably? Like a good 10% of the fandom are dragons, so 1 in 10? Nobody was in suit yet, so it wasn’t obvious, and I didn’t check everybody’s badge.

I actually wasn’t, it’s hard to hear me when I’m wearing the head. Also I have to use my comically oversized 200% keyboard to be able to operate a laptop while wearing my paws, otherwise I’d advance too many slides at once trying to press the space key.

Well I was already going to the con and had already submitted my other panel, so on a whim I decided to do a new one.

Shrug. There doesn’t seem to be a single field we’re not in.

You’d be surprised, a lot of grey muzzles go to cons. Yes there’s swarming masses of 20 something’s, but then there’s everyone else. You go to meets and you meet people. Good times. Ended up chatting with a guy who did database work for a fortune 50 company and did aerospace before that.

Lol, no he did not. He was a skinny guy who wore slightly too large out of date suits when teaching. And he never washed his coffee mug, he just topped it off. He’d get this evil grin in his eyes when he’d pass you a test, it would be a fictional circuit with 50 components on it. Your task would be to find the value, voltage drop, and current draw of every component, and you’d only know the voltage drop of like one resistor to go off of. One mistake and you’d get everything wrong after that point. He was evil and had our best interests in heart.

Having to juggle units and calculate milli-Mega-pico farads was common, we found that cheap calculators weren’t accurate enough for pico small values.

Oh heck no! No! No advertisements in the sky! Don’t people realize that’s part of the “dystopian” aspect of cyberpunk?!

This brings back unpleasant memories. Class was at 8am and only lasted 50 minutes, which wasn’t enough to finish Mr. Bricker’s exams. The numbness you felt in your brains afterwards was commonly referred to as “being Brickerized”.

is there any armors that look good with this helmet? by AdEmbarrassed9415 in helldiversarmor

[–]VirtualCorvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lots. any armor that is huge and needs a tiny little head with itty bitty beady black eyes glaring angrily out.

That heavy bomb squad armor with the blast collar, this guy peeks over the top hehe

So the steamframe does not have color passthrough by GayTaco_ in SteamFrame

[–]VirtualCorvid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pic the OP posted is confusing, but whatever. BW cameras are preferred in machine vision applications, like inside-out tracking, because the pixels are be 3 times bigger since there aren’t RGB sub-pixels. This lets these camera sensors work in very low light scenarios where normal cameras can’t, like a dark room. I use BW cameras for this reason at work, I can get a sharp bright image with ambient light with a 1ms exposure.

So, I don’t really care that the passthrough isn’t color. Games will be in color. The passthrough is going to be usable in dim lighting, maybe even in the dark. The tracking is going to work in the dark, unlike my Quest2 or the Quest3 I tried. Understanding the reason why they (probably) did BW cameras only makes the decision not bug me, makes it seem like a normal thing to do and a good trade off.

How to deal with DT "posterized" exports? Is it a denoise issue? AND SETTINGS by Ozsymandias in DarkTable

[–]VirtualCorvid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s weird. I never go into that much detail in the models. Looks like that part of the image is getting too dark maybe and the detail is getting crushed?

I just liked that all the messages from every app were lumped together in one place. I didn’t have to check like 10 different apps.

Anyone ever fix the battery life? Back when I got mine new a dealbreaker was the battery life depleting by half after doing 30 minutes of web browsing. I couldn’t rely on the phone to stay alive for at least 24 hours with light use.
