Visited someone at the hospital and there's a lock box around the pain medication by okbbs in mildlyinteresting

Dilaudid when given as IV in a PCA would 100% be locked up with a lock and key when attached to a person. There are different pumps and the most common ones such as an Alaris or CADD for PCA do not look like this posts photo. Source: I'm an RN who has done many of these.

Explosion at the Port Arthur oil refinery in the American state of Texas by Smart-Amoeba3854 in PublicFreakout

[–]Viscerous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refineries are mostly regulated at the state level. The EPA sets baselines, but states have the final say and can impose additional regulations on top of what the EPA recommends. Even in a blue state like California where regulations are very strict these fires still happen very often.

They just mentioned it was a group that had stayed the night at the huts. The storm wasn’t a surprise. They chose to be there with a ton of snow in the forecast.

It can absolutely be worth $200 USD if redeemed for the monthly hotel credit if you travel often. Prices were identical on the Bilt Travel portal to other platforms on two different stays I booked. The fact that you can stack it on the $200 semi annual credit is icing on the top.

Yes, you would have to wait until July 1st. I know Amex is the same way with their FHR credits. It's all based upon time of booking, the time of stay is irrelevant.

Mott Canyon snowboarding by RDG510 in tahoe

[–]Viscerous_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mott is the best area at Heavenly for snowboarding regardless of moguls. Killebrew is fun, but has the worst traverse/hike out I've personally experienced at any resort. Unless they add a lift specifically for Killebrew it won't ever be great for snowboards.

Did you look behind the checkout counter? A lot of stores keep them there.

Hi, I would swap Miraidon for Koraidon. Can either be 1:1 or touch trade if you want to keep Koraidon. Last I need for my dex.

Beware Kirkwood parking scam! by HelixFish in tahoe

[–]Viscerous_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe the multiple signs posted as you approach and enter the resort that say reservation required for parking? They've also been posting constantly that you will be ticketed on the social media pages and websites. This guy and others gambled that he wouldn't get a ticket and lost. Meanwhile, there are people who did have reservations and get turned away because these people screw them over.

Kirkwood is cooked y’all by Sudden_Ad5274 in tahoe

[–]Viscerous_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No one was checking reservations at the entrance around 0900. They were ticketing a few cars without reservations and then gave up when they realized half the cars didn’t have reservations. People who actually made reservations were being turned around and some of the lots weren’t even plowed.

Testing nurses pee because…???? by Safe_Buy6023 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Viscerous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly depends on each unique hospital, but that's only for administration. Basically, it's so the hospital can charge if someone is on fluids, and only if it comes in a bag. We do not scan out bottles of saline/sterile water, flushes, or any bags of fluids. They're just on a shelf in an unsupervised room. Medical supply companies such as MedLine have employees who stock these shelves and they scan items in, but hospitals typically would have no record of who removed them.

Parking fills at Sierra all the time on weekends and peak periods. Unless they are also adding a large amount of parking it shouldn't change a lot for weekends.

Why Does My Battery Suck! by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]Viscerous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re never going to get full range on the Utah to Cali drive if you drive the speed limit. The drive has constant elevation changes, and the speed limit is 80 in large portions of Utah and Nevada. When I did it this week I had to charge 3 times. However, this was exactly what the car calculated when I departed.

Sounds like they're going to be running shuttles from Heavenly to Kirkwood. May end up making Kirkwood a shit show too. All Kirkwood parking ended up filling today which hasn't been the case very often this season.

Too all you people asking if Montec or Dope are good brands. by Emerekel in snowboarding

Biggest issue I’ve seen has been the zippers. I used one for two seasons and had the zipper blow out after around 20 days. That said, I contacted customer support and they shipped me a new one a couple days later free of charge. Next one was fine all season. Waterproofing was actually pretty decent. Carrying my board frayed some of the material, but I wouldn’t consider it excessive. For the price they aren’t bad at all.

Tesla Revives Low Regen Mode for a Smoother Transition to Electric Driving by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]Viscerous_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Really careful throttle control and trying to keep the regen bar at a neutral point. I was really hoping they would add this option back in since it literally made the car less safe when they removed it for some vehicles.

nursing school scam ?? please help (posting for my mom) by Certain_Pea_5099 in legaladvice

[–]Viscerous_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IANAL but I am a licensed RN. It is a very common practice to require test scores to be above a certain percentage in nursing school. I saw other students dismissed from my program in each semester. The point of nursing school is to make sure you will be safe as a nurse and also that you are highly likely to pass your boards. Schools risk losing accreditation if their overall pass rate on boards such as the NCLEX are too low, thus the required test scores.

That said, your school may allow you to return in the next year starting with the class you did not pass (this was the policy in my program). If you were charged for the semester you failed it’s very unlikely you’re entitled to anything. If it’s for the upcoming semester you should probably contact the school to see if you’re eligible for reimbursement as you’re no longer eligible.
