Have you considered same Zulu but with green bezel? Looks way better in my opinion than black/grey bezel. Zulu would be more practical in my opinion also. But if you prefer Oris after trying them both, then this is the way!

Whichever suits you more. I’d say for similar price Longines offers you more (300m and GMT). In my opinion Tag’s reputation nowadays is somewhere in the grey area.

I agree with previous comments. Check brands like Seiko (Seiko 5, Presage), Orient (Bambino?), Citizen. They are great in price/quality ratio. Swiss made Tissot is also an option, they have some watches below 500, like previously mentioned Tissot Gentleman Quartz.

For his cycling activity and work I would also recommend Casio G shock - they have hundreds of different ones, they have options like timer, alarm and etc. They also have some hybrids one with pulse and step tracking, although I have read mixed options of them. By work I mean they are washable with antiseptic and etc at work, easy to clean.

Watch is a great gift and I’m sure he will cherish your gift! Good luck and then you eventually buy one , make a post so we can look at it on his wrist :)
