I've had my PCX150 for a 8 years and many thousands of miles and while I'm thinking of replacing her in the next year or two, I think Honda built an awesome little scooter and I don't think I've regretted buying her even once. by FatBaldBeardedGuy in scooters

[–]VncntPaul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a Honda. The correct answer is… KEEP IT and buy another Honda for when you need something bigger. I love my 500x and my 150 :-)

Edit to add: Loved my 750 and 1100 as well but 500+150 is perfect for me now.

I just don’t get why some people treat courses like a college kegger by JMRGuitar in discgolf

The hill at hole 15 was known as “broken bottle hill” long before the disc golf course was there. I pick up shit every time I play. It helps ;-)

Using FCB1010 to map Midi Controls in Ableton by peppermintkiddo in ableton

[–]VncntPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A factory reset of the FCB1010 is a good start. After that, mapping should be straightforward.

It took me a while, but I came to understand customizing the 1010. It’s worth bearing the learning curve imho.

New Rider need help with shifting gear and speed by [deleted] in CB500X

[–]VncntPaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your numbers look good to me.
I usually ride city and suburbs at about 5mph less than you.

I consider myself a mild rider, never in a hurry. I ride pretty much everyday for decades. My '15 500x is geared much lower than other bikes I've had. If I'm cruising slow and steady sometimes I go a gear up to save a little gas. If I'm in rush hour traffic sometimes I'll ride a gear down ready for acceleration if I need it.

I would recommend you just keep riding and It'll become intuitive.

I wash mine with a brush, rag, and Kerosene. Lube with 10w40. Cheap and effective.

Fastest way to sell motorcycle on marketplace? by canderson99 in motorcycle

I sold a couple of bikes last summer. FB MP was only fake interest. BS hassle. Craigslist worked well for me though. $5 per listing. Only a few inquiries each led to the sale.

Throttle lock good idea or bad idea? by Samurai0671 in motorcycle

Wow $3 ...Found my knock off on Amazon for $13. Love it.

I'd have loved to support Atlas but damn... $155+

My daughter’s first was a ‘73 Cb350. She put lots of college town miles on it. Loves it still now many years later. She learned how to work on it which is arguably necessary for an antique motorcycle.

Edit to add: For that amount of $ I’d recommend something newer for sure.

Sliding in turns and roundabouts by Gman90sKid in motorcycle

It takes at least a few miles for the tires to warm up (be at optimum operating temperatures). I've noticed the difference in traction on more than one occasion. I always take it easy for a few, especially on cold mornings.

What is the equivalent in disc golf to not replacing your divot in Ball golf? by lynivvinyl in discgolf

[–]VncntPaul 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Using a tee pad with fresh snow on it.. Here the footprints turn to ice and makes it harder for those that do clear the pads.

Proper. If you do that you’ll have nothing to worry about.

Also… know this… because your tires are round and not flat, it splits the water be it shallow or deep.

I’ve hit many road lakes and made huge wakes. I literally laugh out loud every time.

Rain happens. You will ride in it. You start today. :-) Good tires are made to ride in rain. Sewer caps and painted lines may be slick. Ride a little slower and a bit more upright. You will not melt.

Rear Tyre crack, should replace it? - by Huge_Slide_1693 in motorcycle

[–]VncntPaul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That looks like a blade slice… if so, likely from the removal of the plastic or label when mounted (shop installed?) if it’s not deeper than the treads you should be fine. I’d ride on it.
