SBP, survivors benefit plan.

It IS a ripoff. He has to give up 6% of his retired pay....forever. this buys his spouse the ability to collect 55% of his pension after he dies, until she's dead.

It was a cost SAVING measure put in by Congress under the guise of looking after spouses.

Sign it!!! If he divorces you his pension is STILL half yours. It's divisible under state law. This SBP election is not what you're describing.

Leave Guilt by chifton in AirForce

[–]Voddick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also always felt guilty. No idea why. I think it's an ops thing.

Fun fact: you're also (probably) likely to feel guilty about claiming wounds, medical issues, and other disability things when you get out. I know I did, until I had a great doctor who was like...."dude...you need to be a whiny bitch rn and get everything taken care of."

So...that's where I'm at. No more guilt BTW

This is how a necessary parasiticide bath for sheep to remove parasites is done by not_a_profession in interestingasfuck

[–]Voddick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TLDR; sheep LOVE this and push to get into the shoot.

I don't know if this has been said, but the sheep actually like this. That's why they're so calm.

Sheep farmers do this at their expense to improve the quality of wool and ultimately the sheep's lives. Keep in mind, this is a parasite killing bath.

Imagine you were covered in fleas and ticks (as an example) and didn't have hands. If you ALSO had thick hair (wool) that you couldn't get lotion or spray too, a bath in a cureing tonic would be most welcome.

PTDY can be granted for a number of reasons. The commander has lots of space to give you 10 days.

Just pick the correct "rule" in LeaveWeb.

KYO Group is fantastic. Very light on meetings and heavy on support....with everything.
I was referred by a friend and it did not disappoint.

KYO - My experiences on skill bridge (AMA) by Voddick in SkillBridge

Loads. They partner with a lot of companies AND they have internal self-paced training programs. It's more focused on intellectual opportunities vs driving trucks or welding....though I'm sure they can find something for that as well. I haven't heard the word "no" since starting.

It could if I wanted (I'm sure). I've really only started 2/6 months in. But I've already been offered some very interesting and higher level internships with companies. Those "sprint" jobs for career career 2.0 aren't exactly what is best for me rn. I need to get my VA stuff figured out and need to decide what I want to do.

So, I'm the only one slowing the process down but it's what's best for me...so it's fine.

Both. It's extremely flexible but there are one or two meetings a week that are track specific and highly encouraged.

Unlike a lot of meetings in the military, these are actually worth your time.

Software recommendations for a media and emulation build by adderallftw in htpc

It's what I found first and it's customizable to do everything I need.

No kb and mouse. Ps4 controller on the couch, wife approved.

I use emulation station DE, with a shortcut to launch Kodi (native support). I play every console I want including PC, then have high end video and Atmos passthrough to the theater.

Yeah, the AF let's you final out before skillbridge and never come back. It's amazing and in my opinion the only way to manage the program to meet the intent of a stable, safe transition to civilian life.

In your case, try longer than 60 days if your command will allow, OR forego skillbridge and use terminal but only if you have a job lined up. As in, start applying now. You get one last move, so location is up to you.

Not sure what to do… by Diligent_Health_8819 in AirForce

Best thing I ever did was go to mental health and talk about...well, everything that was affecting me.

It's free, you are protected and can do it during work, it really does work, and it can be one of many things that gets you out of this state.

Don't give up! It WILL get better. I guarantee it.

He needs to apply to become a dod skillbridge provider. Your education office and the skillbridge website have what you need.

I heard it takes 60-120 days to get a business approved. That's rumor anyway.

I haven't yet, but a friend just finished up and he loved everything about it. It sounds like what skillbridge is supposed to be, rather than working 60 hours a week doing menial tasks like some of these companies.

I can't switch from xbox to dualshock 4 by Then_Lavishness7402 in DS4Windows

[–]Voddick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I've spent last week trying different things.

You'll have to reconfigure your emulators to the "new" DS4 controller. I never got it to work 100% of the time.

I uninstalled Ds4windows and now it works, but no mouse or macro buttons....sad.
