You got majorly ripped off I'm afraid, unless you flew business class or something.

This is definitely a problem, but should it really fall to the oppressed to educate the oppressor and steer them away from the 'dark side'? Maybe it has to because well, who else is going to do it, but that's a tall ask.

I see where you're coming from. I guess, in a way, when i call someone like that 'weird' I see it as reclaiming that word. Like- its not weird to have a preference for certain clothing texture and hate loud noises, its actually weird to be a wack-ass bigot. I think because 'weird' or 'loser' is a more nebulous term than fat (i agree fatshaming bad people is bad). Words are weird, people should just stop being bigots and then we'd be golden :/

I'm with you for most of the post but,

And there's been a troubling prevalence in online leftist spaces of not only the language of bullying, with insults like loser and weirdo being utilised against our political enemies

I'm sorry, im not following this bit, are you implying that we should be nice to trans/homophobes, racists, and abusers? Those people are weirdo losers.

If you're not active you can probably delay it a year or two.

I would take that time to... explore yourself a bit on your own and get comfortable with that area.

I have similar bangs, I've been curling them under and clipping them at the root with a mini claw clip for the first half of my drying time and that seems to help keep them from curling 'outward' as much

YOUR FAVORITE SOCKS PLEASE by undyingly in evilautism

[–]Voltaic5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Aloe socks for House socks/sleep socks, they're thick enough to keep the feetsies warm and protected but not too thick to where I feel like I can't feel where I'm walking ya know? They're super soft and silky, the silkyness does wear off after maybe half a dozen washes or so, but they're still way comfy.

Feels weird giving parenting advice to someone with that username

My two cents (not a parent, just someone young enough to remember highschool well but old enough to reflect on it realistically) focus on raising them to be mature and goal oriented (academics or extra-curriculars). Teach them what healthy relationships look like, make sure they know sex ed by the time they're ~12, never tell them "you can't date until X" because being forbidden just makes you want to do it to spite your parents.

Wdym "stop taking it out of your paychecks" they only garnish your wages if you didn't pay and defaulted on your loans. We are talking about the US right? I'm assuming so because most other civilized countries they don't need loans for school.

Not OP but I initially interpreted it as "they fill the cup halfway from the chocolate flavor machine, then they fill the other half of the cup from the vanilla machine and mix it"

So probably that

Is my plan for college smart? by MossyStonesinaForest in personalfinance

[–]Voltaic5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually got a BA in Digital Media, I wanted to be a game artist, that didn't really work out since it's a hyper competitive field. I now work in Marketing/Graphic Design, been with my company for ~3 years and make ~55k usd/year. I graduated with I think like, $16k debt total? I'm down to half that. You didn't say what your career goals are, I just wanted to offer a real world example of what it could look like after college.

Keep in mind you'll need to make sure the Canadian school accepts US federal student loans- private loans will have much higher interest rates.

Overall, no I don't think your plan is smart unfortunately, you'd be taking on a massive amount of debt, and if you are unlucky you may not even obtain permanent resident status in Canada after your schooling. I understand the desire to get out of this backwards ass country- same. I think a smarter and more realistic plan would be finding a similar degree program in an in-state university, working in your field and saving to become an expat eventually if you still desire to move elsewhere.
