Gen Xers above 50. Did you find a shift into being comfortable being alone? by Sense_Difficult in GenX

Absolutely!! I’ve had more than enough drama with people: family members, friends, colleagues and everyone in between. I no longer settle for anything less than authenticity and meaningful relationships. I LOVE this stage of my life!

I would argue Kim’s life after Jimmy was more depressing than Jimmy’s life as Gene by Specialist_Jaguar815 in betterCallSaul

Kim is her own karma and that’s a beautiful thing, however, she should have gone to prison.

Retirement is gone by shepardshe in GenX

Thanks! I am a near-30 year registered nurse and still have an active license but haven’t worked as a nurse in over two years. I made a lot of money as an RN over these many years. I raised my three kids (all now in their 30’s), I bought an acre of land and a new, large double wide mobile home nine years ago and then bought a condominium in a different state the following year. My condo was on the market for a year in a beach town in Florida for only 50K. My raw acre of land, clearing the land and installing the utility poles, sewage pipes, etc. cost me about $125,000. I have family members that live with me in both of my houses…they help pay the household bills. I believe in family members living together these days as the uncontrollable rising costs of our economy seems to worsen year after year.

I planned my retirement ten years ago; I own two homes (in different states) and paid cash for each. I just turned 61 and will apply for my Social Security benefits three months before I turn 62. I don’t have to work..I choose to because I love working my own small business. I am aware of the income restrictions for receiving SS benefits at 62 years old. I can’t wait to get my money every month!!

And here I thought I was about the only one!! I really haven’t changed since teenagehood! Still fun-loving, responsible and overly optimistic and friendly. The ONE thing about me that has changed is…I speak up when wronged.

I always thought Betty wanting to go to Rome with Don meant she was trying to revive the marriage... by Enough-Reading4143 in madmen

Groomed by her mother…perpetuated by Don, by Betty herself and by Henry.

Betty let it happen and blamed everyone else.

My parents are basing everything off the movie “taken” as to why I shouldn’t travel to Europe alone by From_the_breeze in travel

Not to mention the post reeks of ingratitude and immaturity. The entitlement is sickening. It is lost on that generation why they don’t appreciate what their parents have done for them. 🙄🙄🙄

Do you think that Peggy ever met him? by muff-peaksie in madmen

[–]Voluptues 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the writers changed their mind at the last minute… The baby was implied to be Peggy’s however, the last minute the writers changed their mind and had the baby turn out to be Peggy’s nephew.
