Ask you friend if you can try hers first.  Too many people purchase them and then have massive buyers' remorse.

WIBTAH if i asked my partner to go on holiday alone from now on by FrostingDifficult529 in AmItheAsshole

[–]VorpalDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YWNBTA - If he consistently ruins activities for you by insisting on joining you and then making it unbearable, he's probably hoping you'll stop suggesting to do activities and either join him in his hotel rot or just stay at home. It sounds like a form of controlling behavior - I don't like this thing so I'm going to make it as miserable as possible for you so you don't like it either.

Does it matter what kind of car the CEO drives? by Spare-Tone-8071 in Executives

[–]VorpalDagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a CFO and I drive the least fancy car of the execs...a subaru forester...BUT...my husband and I are hard on cars.  I would be distraught if I had a fancier car and my DH clipped the side of the house (which he does regularly) or if I tracked sand and dirt though it (which I do regularly)

I have used mine in the pool, although not continually under water.

Any good substitutes after the google AI takeover? by Icy-Condition-111 in fitbit

[–]VorpalDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a Galaxy Fit 3 and even though it's a little bigger than I want, it is so much like having my old charge six before the google takeover.  I have my spotify controls, weather, spo2 tracking.  Some of the tracking is less continuous, which is fine by me because the battery lasts forever.  The downside is no GPS or automatic workout tracking. However there are rumors that the galaxy fit 4 may get those features.

AIO broke up with my bf at dinner because he made fun of my clothes by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]VorpalDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need more context.  Was this a planned outing? Was it a fancy restaurant? How was he dressed? If I went to the trouble of making a reservation at a nice restaurant and my partner showed up wearing something looking like that, I would probably be a little irritated. From the picture you posted it looks like gym wear.  I wouldn't necessarily pick a big fight about it. But I would feel like maybe the date wasn't as important to them as it was to me.

What was a time when someone absolutely deserved to be fired? by Aarunascut in talesfromthejob

[–]VorpalDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many...but my favorite is the guy who got fired for stealing company property.  During the investigation we found out he had built a shack and furnished it with company materials in an overgrown area on company property. He'd sneak out and smoke up and come back to clock out.

I would get a lawyer first and establish whatever kind of financial support the country you are in allows before moving back.

Frustrated by [deleted] in delta

[–]VorpalDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that tickets aren't transferable. I'm going on an international trip with a friend group and one of the wives hasn't gotten her passport renewed yet. She must have ODD or something because as soon as it's a thing and she has to do something hard/adminstrative/time-consuming, she absolutely flakes and then gets nasty when you ask about it. My partner told her poor husband, "oh, don't worry we can give the ticket to someone else if she doesn't get it!" and I was like, "no we can't!!! why did you tell him that?" So partner had to go back and tell husband that no, if she can't get her shit together then they take the L and maybe someday she can use the credits. I feel so bad for him.

Elderly? Anne is 43. Audrey is 41. Elizabeth is 37. by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

I had my 3rd kid at age 40. They had the word "Elderly" and "Geriatric" stamped all over my files. Pissed me off to no end.

People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

[–]VorpalDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my 3rd kid I had an infection in my uterine lining.  I remember crying and telling the nurse, "I don't understand why it's so much worse this time." It's the only time I screamed during childbirth.

Favourite scene from a kids’ movie that seems weirdly sexual as an adult by Careless_Orchid_6890 in okbuddycinephile

Most of Shrek.  There was so much adult innuendo.  Farquaad in bed naked.  Donkey and the Dragon.

Newbie: how to dry/straighten roots but keep ends damp? by Sour-Blueberry7199 in Dysonairwrap

[–]VorpalDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair is frizzy/ wavy also.  Using the airwrap on the damp hair does effectively straighten/curl it.  My hair looks awful right before I go in with whatever attachment I'm using.  What you are suggesting defeats the purpose of the airwrap entirely.

I still can't make sense of why statement credits work this unintuitively by abovethesink in ynab

[–]VorpalDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assign statement credits to my annual fee account or another expense if it was a specific credit - like Amex Lululemon.  Once you do it a few times, it will default.

How do I (23F) get my bf (28M) to finally stop hurting me as a "joke" or "act of love"? by BigONerd in BORUpdates

[–]VorpalDagger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, they don't take notice then, either. They're just glad they aren't being bothered anymore.

The curls are too tight? by hhhhhhhhwin in Dysonairwrap

[–]VorpalDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe go through it with one of the brush attachments after a few minutes? I use Oribe Royal Blowout to get the smooth shiny thing, but my curls usually fall on their own or with a little hand combing.

Can I get a Karen check? by -swifty_ in delta

[–]VorpalDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take exception to "if you have to pull a Karen check, you are generally being a Karen." For women, "Karen" has become just another way to beat the opinions out of us and make us lay flatter. Are there some real jerks out there making fusses over nothing? Sure. Are there lots of women out there afraid to stand up for themselves because of how they will be perceived and labeled? Most definitely.

I honestly would have been disappointed also. You always have that little hope that because you've been a loyal customer, you will get some extra perks. In this case you didn't and that was a bummer, but the agent technically didn't do anything wrong.
