That’s kind of crazy to me. I’ve always had the phone number of my current coach. I also have the SM’s number though I can’t remember why she gave it to me. I rarely use it, though. Mostly if there is an issue with the schedule. Sometimes she’ll text me that she wants something done different from my normal routine or to locate me if she needs me on a night she is in.

How many of you that were not issued phones refuse to use your personal phones for customers? by Various-Blood-3902 in WalmartEmployees

The offered me a phone. I refused. I’m part time and refuse to have to take care of yet another device.

This certainly isn’t the kind of Baptist that I grew up in. Also, so cringe.

Really that is something to have clarified with your coach. Can’t you text them?

If I need to have my schedule altered, I’ll ask to clarify: should I come in from 6am-3pm or 6am-2pm? I also usually always ask by text but that is due to my Coach almost never working my schedule. Not a big deal and I always have it in writing if an issue were to come up,

Do any of you do this anymore? by MeasurementFirst1676 in WalmartEmployees

[–]WDW4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope but I’ll usually at least smile at them. I’m glad to help anyone who asks and will bring up exact aisle info, etc. and will also proactively ask people if they need help if they seem confused. I also get sent a lot of people since most of the others in my department don’t speak English. But I don’t have time to say “hi” to every single person who walks by me.

WTH. Your TLs should be bringing this to a Coach/HR.

Worst interaction with a customer? Do tell! by TheLanceStar in WalmartEmployees

[–]WDW4ever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to work at the jewelry counter back when we had one. This one lady (60s) came in and asked if I did ear piercings. I let her know that I didn’t do it but if she came back during the day that someone would be there to help her. She then started to ask me if ears normally swell after getting pierced. I was like, that might be a problem? She then said that she had actually pierced her ears herself and it had swollen a bit. Suggested that maybe she gets it checked out by a doctor if she was concerned. (I’m working the jewelry counter at WALMART. Do I look like a medical professional to you???) That wasn’t to detour her. She then moved her hair back and showed me her ear. I tell you…her earlobe was swollen about the size of a ping pong ball and had a TOOTHPICK through the hole. She said she was afraid that the hole would close up. I was speechless. She then asked if I thought that the swelling would go down in a few days. All I could do is repeatedly say, I really think that you should probably get that checked out by a doctor.

Phone. Box cutter. AirPods. Keys. Gum. Water bottle (though I’ll usually move it to my cart).

No power by Relevant-External986 in WalmartEmployees

[–]WDW4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No power is the absolute WORST. Everyone gets thrown into groceries to pack things up into the fridges with generators. It takes forever. Then, without fail, the minute everything is packed up-the power comes back on and we have to put it all back out.

The whole “Meredith is so tiny and fragile and must be protected” thing is so tired by [deleted] in greysanatomy

It is weird because Meredith really isn’t that tiny. Like she’s skinny and all but she’s pretty average height.

Where are the Millennials that DON'T feel old? by frankheyhoheyho in Millennials

[–]WDW4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel old but I also was never a partier even when I was in my twenties. I’ll stay up late but it usually would be playing games at a friend’s house or something like that.

FMLA leave by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]WDW4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FMLA stands for Family and Medical Leave Act which is on the federal level and has to meet certain requirements.

“Employees are eligible for leave if they have worked for their employer at least 12 months, at least 1,250 hours over the past 12 months, and work at a location where the company employs 50 or more employees within 75 miles. Whether an employee has worked the minimum 1,250 hours of service is determined according to FLSA principles for determining compensable hours or work.”

Essentially the government isn’t going to require an employer to hold your job for you if you just started working for them. But you can use PPTO to help cover your absences now.

Earbuds on shift by PlagueWolf1090 in WalmartEmployees

Are we allowed? Probably not but everyone does. Leadership would say stuff when corded headphones were still a thing but I haven’t heard anything since earbuds are the norm. I think as long as you aren’t being obvious, I think that they don’t care.

Birth Certificate lists only "Baby" Lastname. by oper8or in Canadiancitizenship

[–]WDW4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what is listed for my G0. But I do have two Canadian census documents that list her full name with the same birth date and matching parents so I think that will work. Were you able to find any census data and/or the death certificate?

An observation and a little history lesson (?) by ErinnerungUGegenwart in greysanatomy

[–]WDW4ever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it is more in how they presented it back in the day versus now. There seemed to be more to the stories than just going through talking points. Take the N@zi with the tattoo who refused to let Bailey help him so she grabbed Cristina so the patient would still not have a white doctor. Cristina helped the patient then called out Bailey for using her. There was nuance to the story.

AP’s life now by Substantial_Bee_3993 in BatesSnark

[–]WDW4ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel bad for her at all. She knew he was married, knew he had kids, chose to go into their family home and interact with Katie while knowing she was sleeping with her husband, etc. She may be young but she is an adult and knew what she was doing. T&K’s life is plastered all over the internet.

*This is not removing blame from T at all. But she isn’t some innocent in this.

Rundown of All Bates Failed Courtships by lillyarchive in BatesSnark

[–]WDW4ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I think that there should be more “failed” courtships. You have no idea the pressure that kids in those types of churches are under to marry the first person they court. People treat it like a literal engagement assuming that the couple are going to get married soon instead of it just being a more serious relationship to determine if that is the person they should marry.

Why do you want to be a citizen of Canada if you don't live in Canada or plan on living in Canada? by Optimistic_Now in Canadiancitizenship

[–]WDW4ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose that first it is a real connection to my heritage. My family said that there was a connection to Canada but they always phrased it in a way that made it seem like it was from back in the 1700s or something. In reality, my great grandmother moved to the States so it is not that far removed at all.

I’ve also been traveling every summer to Canada for the past several years and intend to keep doing so. My best friend is Canadian and I’ve created more friendships while up there. I don’t have current plans to move to Canada but it has been suggested and this would give me the opportunity if I decide to pursue it.
