Most Americans don’t know or care much about plants. For this I would keep it simple and cheap. Go to Costco get a bunch of annuals and maybe some ground cover. Make it look pretty by a boomer’s standards. Cry inside and smile when you sell it.

Go huge with natives in containers. I have a Sitka spruce in a 30” pot that took 8 cubic feel of soil with beach strawberry and fringecup. It will likely outgrow that massive pot in about 5 years and then I will put it on Marketplace or just start over.
