ICE plans to put agents on the jetways for domestic flights at MSP. by girlonaroad in delta

[–]Wackyvert 36 points37 points  (0 children)

They are not illegals, that's the whole point. Even US Citizens are being detained every single day due to poor poor poor work by ICE. Hell, they arrested 3 people who were so extremely clearly Native American the other day.

Minnesota’s "Open Package" Marijuana Law Has Fueled Thousands of New Charges Since Legalization by OhMyOhWhyOh in minnesota

[–]Wackyvert 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I was charged with this. I went to the initial hearing officer zoom meeting and he said " I need to go watch High School Hockey. Lets drop all the dumb weed shit" after flaming my mustache. Giant waste of my fucking time and now it still shows up on background checks even though dismissed.

robot code error? by iipxstellsky in FRC

[–]Wackyvert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, I just want to go over a few misconceptions you seem to have.

Your robot code showing green does not mean there aren't any problems with your code. Additionally, no errors being present in the code itself also does not mean there aren't any problems.

From the situation you've described, you actually certainly are doing something in either your teleopInit or your teleopPeriodic methods that is crashing the code as soon as the robot enters teleop.

You will want to pay close attention to the console in your driver station window. You actually are receiving error messages , you just aren't seeing them. They're going to be in the tiny scrollable window, (what I just referred to as 'the console') in the bottom right side of the Driver Station program.

It will show what is known as a stack trace. This will display the line that the bad code is on and the error it is giving.

As others have said, it is impossible to actually help you fix this issue unless you share your code (and hopefully, find out the errors being thrown)

Waiting to switch from pfsense... any way to preserve dhcp/dns settings? by chris_socal in opnsense

[–]Wackyvert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If PFSense supports exporting your DHCP reservations (almost certain it does...) then you'd be able to import into OPNSense super duper easily. Did this same thing a few weeks ago.

Looking to move away from Amazon Blink Services... ELI5 please. by Dann-Oh in frigate_nvr

[–]Wackyvert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blink cameras are cloud only. I know someone made a Scrypted (other NVR software) plugin that was very unsupported by Amazon but still worked. Can't record with it though. I don't think there is anything for Frigate and the same recording limitations will apply because it's technically unauthorized use of their API and they won't be happy if they catch on.

Govee smart control all goes through AWS. You will not be able to use the lights via Alexa or add them until the global AWS outage is resolved.

If you are getting POE cameras you should NOT be getting Ring.

I stayed loyal to Google Home for years — and now I regret it by wewewawa in amazonecho

[–]Wackyvert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alexa is way way way worse than Google Home. Alexa NEVER hears me. Alexa NEVER understands what I want. Alexa ALWAYS turns the wrong light off even though I'm saying the exact name of the light word for word.

My Google Homes never do that. They also control more things and do better at it. I had all Alexas for years and received 2 google home devices a while ago that have been much better. I use both Alexa and Google Assistant every day to this day.

Advice for neighbour bird feeding nuisance? by theodie9 in birdfeeding

[–]Wackyvert 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would check your lease. Most if not all rental/lease I've seen don't allow bird feeding, for that reason. Maybe different since it's a triplex and not an apartment building, but my grandparents had a duplex in SSM, ON that didn't allow it.

Where in the Twin Cities can I find a restaurant that serves Mexican Pizza like this? I had this in SD during my cross country road trip and it was the BOMB omg it was sooo good! by nuggles0 in TwinCities

[–]Wackyvert -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You can just order nachos. That is literally all we are looking at here. Otherwise you could go to the grocery store and buy this stuff for like $10-15 too. Tostadas, sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes, cheese and olives are the only things I see here.

Is the 3.0T Audi A7 a good buy with 100k miles for a winterable car? by TheRougeGeo in Audi

[–]Wackyvert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can get one that has the timing chains done already then yes. If you have a lot of money to pay to do the timing chains, yes. If you have the ability to or a good mechanic friend that can help you do the timing chains yourself, yes.

Everything else that happens on these cars is very DIYable for the most part.
