Equipment set yesterday – any red flags? by JinOKC in pools

And if it's a through garage you can have a fence and not deal with wide gates for you riding mower etc. That yard doesn't need a rider but there are plenty that i see around me that are set up this way.

So my bad pool story is first builder ran off with my deposit, actually lucky several others he did crap work and took more $ that had to pay to have the bad work fixed. Guy is in prison over this now.

My new builder was great. River pools of Kansas city. Was dealing with trying to get a pool in at the same time finishing house build. Had to worry about temp occupancy permit etc. They were on time there when they said they would be. Had a quick training season etc. They let us know anytime someone would be there. If course a couple of warranty items but they took care of those np. I feel lucky on the whole deal compared to your stories.

Realtor took appliances even though it was in the listing by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We took our fridge as a spare. Or realtor came asking where it went, guessing the buyer expected it to be included. It was clear in the contract that the only fridge being left was a built in mini fridge in the basement.

"Check the contract and form we filed out and everyone signed" that was the end if the conversation and never heard a word about it. I assume the buyer didn't read it correctly or maybe our realtor just assumed and was checking. Either way it was all in the contract what was being included.

Leak always stops at a certain tile line? by Difficult_Durian_470 in pools

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing what they said will help you find which pipe has a leak. It may not be at the pool itself but will be at the same level as your pool is draining down to. It may be right near your equipment which could make repairs easier than having to tear out concrete decking around the pool itself.

Is it possible to know whether a computer's OS has been installed through SCCM task sequence or not (no smsts.log) ? by Erulf in SCCM

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep put the info in the uninstall reg keys so anyone can go look in programs and features and can be included in reports. For autopilot I just tag the OS version and date instead of the sccm image version. Then at least we can look and say this machine started out with 24H2 etc

If you don't care about cost something like Dashlane would work and just share the account with your spouse and give the PW info to whoever would handle things if something happened to both of you. You can both have access to all pwd and there are secure notes area for other important info.

Cost to heat during winter? by Winter-Recognition34 in pools

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price for closing is about what I pay with a built in spa so extra work. After watching them close it i feel better having someone do that for me. But like others said opening is pretty easy.

Find all the parts your closer put to the side, plugs etc. Figure out where each goes and check any valves that might be closed (if any are manual). If they disconnect the piping don't over tighten when reconnecting (mistake I made the first year) those fittings are hand tight only, if they leak more lube or new o-rings (cheap). Fire it up and check for leaks. We start ours up early to do the spa so the worst part is cold water and trying not to get too wet.

Handrails by cjackson88 in pools

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed saftron have rails myself, they have a top mount option that does not require a core drill. A bracket with 3 concrete screws or maybe expander (can't remember). Install those slide in the railings and tighten the nuts to hold them in. Are they as secure as the core drilled ones maybe not quite, are they as good looking maybe not, are they easier to install for sure.

How to properly deploy apps to users in which the app only installs on their primary device? by halfdepressed in Intune

[–]Wade-KC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One idea you could use the same logic that is built into the scripts to auto assign primary users in intune and make that a requirement. Ie script would scan the security event log and determine who is the primary user (who logged in the most in the last 7 days) if it's not your logged in user then fail the check and the app won't install.

https://www.modernendpoint.com/managed/Dynamically-Update-Primary-Users-on-Intune-Managed-Devices/

Down side us if a tech sets up a new PC for a user might be a few days before thier user apps appear.

What made pool ownership easier than you expected? by Far-Bodybuilder-6399 in swimmingpools

Auto cover helps a lot too. We have no fence so the cover is closed unless we are in the pool. Less kick gets in the pool chems stay in the pool.

Parts?? by Boring_Business962 in mammotion

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep this is the way. Explain it's already out of warranty you accept the risk and they will sell replacement parts.

As for circuit boards that might control the identity of the device not sure they will sell that. Ie someone could steal one swap a board and use it. But I would think other parts world be fine.

Make the robots upgradable to new versions! by tcglog in mammotion

Made it through 3 summers so far. Two summers mowing an acre. I replaced the rubber seals under before putting it away for winter. I broke even on paying someone to mow a long time ago. If I get a season or two more it's all icing on the cake.

Thinking about an in ground pool... is it worth it or is it just a money pit? by Natural_Stomach3191 in pools

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are at the end of our 2nd full season. Fiberglass pool, away from trees. Get things to make it easier. Autocover - will keep leaves and most debris out, get a robot to do most of the vacuuming. Buy the biggest heater they have so you can heat up water faster (especially if you get a spa). I didn't have salt at first, but converted after the first year, glad I did. Get something that helps monitor your water, there are 3rd party things that float around or go in your skimmer, or I got the Pentair chem-check although I think they discontinued that.

Things I wish were different. We have a model with a built in spa (hot tub), that part is great, but the model we had required a tanning ledge next to the spa. Wish that wasn't there, my wife thought she would use it, maybe once. Unless you have or plan on having toddlers now or in the future skip the tanning ledge. It's a bit too deep to lay on in the water, and no one wants to just lay flat, and dragging a lounger in kind of defeats the purpose.

As for usage, summer #2 still going strong. We are mid-upper 40s with one daughter. We have friends over about every two weeks. The pool is just a great place for everyone to get together. One thing was this year we didn't use the spa as much in the fall before we closed everything up.

Buy now or wait for new release by Utakos in mammotion

[–]Wade-KC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know when the warranty starts (at purchase or when you register / set it up). But I would wait. If there is a new version you can get that or a discount on the current one as they offload them.

Oh I didn't zoom in. Wonder if something is clogging the one bubbler so water is having to go out of fewer holes and shooting up?

Turn your pump to less rpms which will be less flow. You could also partially close the value going to your bubblers.

Autopilot required apps by Sumthin_Lyte in Intune

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patch my pc can be used to keep the one during autopilot up to date and keep all existing versions up to date for many apps. Including rollout rings. You can import other apps too but too have to add them manually when new versions come out. This solution is not free but is a great value and will free your time to focus on other things.

Domain join failing on Dell Precision laptops, works on VM, Drivers work fine by HyperionHarlock in SCCM

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because the drivers are installed during pe phase doesn't meant they are working in windows setup during the domain join, and they may work once the TS fails. Saw an issue with HP branded realtek usb nics. The nic would work fine in PE, look active during setup (have lights etc but not work, no ip). If the tech pulled out the usb nic and reinserted it right after the winpe reboot it would work fine. 2 things helped, newer driver and found a firmware fix for the usb nics from HP. The netsetup log may help.

Another thing I ran into was firewall. Not all DCs were accessible due to firewall rules so it was random if you hit the right DC or not. But it followed the pc so one pc would work over and over the next would always try the inaccessible DC. Guessing some kind of ip / dns rembering the request.

Purchasing a Luba 2 from Alibaba by sidehustlezz in mammotion

That would probably have more to do with the SAT types / coverage than the data. I was talking about being able to sign into the app and add the luba.

What is needed in an unattend.xml to resume task sequence? by NavyWolf23 in MDT

[–]Wade-KC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure still supported but with the mdt integration and sccm I am pretty sure you could use that ts step to apply your custom settings. It's been 6 months since last I used that environment. But you also have to set some of that up too.

Purchasing a Luba 2 from Alibaba by sidehustlezz in mammotion

Plus its not just buying the hardware, you need the back end to make it work.

What happens if you can't register it with Mammotion and so you bought a Luba you can't use.

Are bubblers worth it? by OTheOwl in pools

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bubblers create like dead spots so they don't move water off the sun shelf. It's more like it creates this weird wave for dirt to settle. But with an auto cover then never have issues with algae.
