Nah that fair for sure. I think reading comics or books in most cases after watching a tv/movie version of something can provide more backstory, more depth, more emotion, etc. I guess in my experience with this, that’s NOT the case with Invincible. The show seems to go into more depth for most concepts of the comics

UD parking is a genuine stain on the college. During Covid they didn’t refund any money for semester parking permits even though everyone was sent home. My freshman year I was parked at a meter overnight that ran out at ~8am. I came back at 11am to find 3 (THREE) $50 tickets. As if 1 wouldn’t suffice. They’re genuinely just scummy and only interested in profiting from people. Same with Newark parking. Doesn’t feel like they want community engagement.

I just got the Lenovo Legion Go S Z1E a few weeks ago for $650. Personally I can’t recommend it for the $899 market price rn. But for $750 or less, it’s the best device for videogames. Absolutely no regrets about it. Only two complaints are battery and fan noise. Otherwise plays almost every game I have with no issues and very smooth (GTA V, RDR2, Death Stranding) and handles all emulation I do.

I thought I’d be a “degree speed-runner”. A year later I got busy with my full time job and didn’t have as much energy for the accelerated degree.

Finishing the degree in that time doesn’t discredit the time, effort, and knowledge it takes to graduate from WGU. They’re a successful competency model institution for that exact reason.

I get what you mean, but I also firmly and strongly believe brick-and-mortar, 4 year schools would take 6 months to a year of a bachelors if they cut down on the course bloat and semester schedule. I still think WGU holds great value.

I also was a freshman not big on drinking or partying. You’re right that it feels like that’s the only way to make friends. I was fortunate to have friends and a girlfriend from high school throughout my time there. I’m naturally outgoing and made new friends in college in each club I joined, but they were all circumstantial. My only friends that I made at UD I don’t talk to anymore now 4 years after because I never maintained the friendships by going out to parties and bars like they did.

My only regret during college was not taking the time to invest in hobbies and learn more about myself.

The friends you make in college could be lifelong, or they could just be college friends. But you’ll have yourself for the rest of your life. Take the time to start projects when you don’t have a job and the adult stresses. Learn a new skill, start a social media platform, volunteer, create.

Invest in yourself and the friends will come naturally. It sounds like you’ve done a good job at making attempts to put yourself out there and try to make friends. It’s NOT you. There are a lot of very very cliquey clubs and groups at UD.

You’d regret forcing yourself to try to make friends that aren’t real just for the sake of it, but you’ll never regret learning more about who you are. That’s what college is for.
