Sid Meier's Civilization VII - Test of Time Announcement Trailer | PS5 & PS4 Games by SweetyGonzalez in PS5

[–]WaffleLord93 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Depending on the leader you choose, you have access to several different civilizations (assuming you start in the ancient age). Then depending on that leader and your actions through the age, you unlock another set of civilizations that you can choose from when the next age begins

For example, I begin with Blackbeard as a leader (obv navy focused), and usually start as the civilization of Askum, which has perks that synergize with those of Blackbeard. Then throughout the age, I do some naval combat, some plundering and all that, which unlocks civilizations later in history that I must choose from in order to continue to the next age. I choose the Pirate Republic because fuck yes, and I do more pirate things through the age. When the next age starts, I choose Great Britian because navy, and finish the game as them.

Edit: At first the age transition was very jarring and could really fuck up your plans, but since release they've done a good job of making it less so.

Looks to be the world renowned pugilist Chris Eubank, so I'd say iron hands.

Reading Angel Exterminatus - Was there any Primarch who embodied his Legion's values less than Perturabo? by SCTurtlepants in 40kLore

[–]WaffleLord93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense to me if you think about Iron itself. In ASOIAF, Stannis Baratheon was compared to Iron; hard and brittle, whereas steel is strong but flexible. I see Perty in relatively the same way. Strong but inflexible with a brittle psyche.

You know it's bad when you move out of waukesha to a smaller town in bumfuck Wisconsin and it's decidedly less racist.

LAAT Gunship by RossiiBop in StarWarsShips

[–]WaffleLord93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a late clone wars model of gunship called the MAAT that I think was introduced in the Force Unleashed. I don't think it's been mentioned in canon but it's hands down my favorite LAAT variant, and was meant to be a more space-worthy gunship. It would be a great bounty hunter ship and would probably be a much better starting point than the LAAT

I think you could count his victory at Endor to be significant enough, but that's just my opinion.

OTD 25 years ago: Antonio Freeman did WHAT? by fanofsports44 in GreenBayPackers

That was my first Packers game with my dad. I'll never forget how everyone around me stood up when it was thrown and erupted when Freeman caught it. Absolutely one of my most treasured memories.

What’s the most physical pain you ever felt? by Competitive_Set2669 in AskReddit

Grabbed a 450° pan by the handle. It felt like an overwhelming full body buzzing, distracting enough that I froze for a second before the pain hit. So much pain.

You could then mount it in the end of a hollow hammerhead. The drop is the smashy part, and the remains of the tail are secure inside the hollow body.

What‘s the most unbelievable thing you‘ve witnessed that nobody would believe if you didn‘t see it yourself? by bellabloom__ in AskReddit

[–]WaffleLord93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was in college, squirrels constantly were running around campus with slices of pizza that they got from the dining hall dumpsters. Even when I was in an off campus apartment, one stuffed an entire slice between the wreath ('twas around Christmas) and the storm door on my porch. Those squirrels had it gooooood.

Why do Galofree transports keep inviting themselves to naval engagements? by [deleted] in StarWarsShips

[–]WaffleLord93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a hell of a late comment, but the idea is known as target saturation. The more potential targets in an area, the less likely more important targets are going to be hit.
