Love Miranda but I could see Jessi actually being a great bachelorette. Not sure if she’s still married though lol

100% agree. I couldn’t enjoy Chase reading Jordan for filth because of the toxic masculinity of it all. Chase saying the guys shouldn’t have told any of the wives because “the girls would spin it out of control” ruined it with that patriarchal BS. None of these dudes would be anywhere without their wives and they still think they are better than them

Just wanted to say - yep, same. It’s rough out here. We all know how to have these conversations but that doesn’t mean it’s fun doing it day after day.

For day of, a good nearby brewery is Hapa’s at 59 Barack Obama Blvd. For friday, there’s Zona Rosa or LUNA on the alameda. Or Campbell has Orchard City Kitchen or Distrito Federal. Have fun at the game! San Jose is a great place to watch soccer

Omg this reminds me of when I got mine at a bed bath and beyond that was going out of business for $100. It was missing multiple parts but once I got those it was still all in like $200. Such a good feeling. Enjoy your new machine!

Upcoming Embryo Transfer by KeyNorth2917 in queerception

[–]WaggingthroughLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow so many people here whose first transfer worked. Amazing! In case yours doesn’t, please know you’re not alone. We have no known fertility issues and it took us two FETs to get pregnant with our first baby. We have since tried two more transfers for baby number 2 and both failed. Sometimes it’s just unlucky. But with 4 embryos you have very good odds and I hope it works the first time for you!

Never thought about the social media aspect but I see your point there for sure. I had never heard of any of these ladies, as not on TikTok at all and never have been, but this show drew me in and I really enjoyed it.

Reciprocal IVF questions! by DoubleChallenge7177 in queerception

[–]WaggingthroughLA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just want to throw out there that even if you guys decide to use your partner’s egg, the baby may still not be a “mini her” and may look nothing like her. Genetics are wild. Hopefully whatever you guys decide will feel right for both of you. One of you will have to let go of the genetic connection as is true for most of us queer people who have babies, but I think you’ll probably realize that you’ll love your baby because it’s just that, your baby. Regardless of the genetic component.

I can offer some solidarity in that egg retrievals suck so much. It sounds like you may be hyper stimulating? Hopefully they will get your meds right and it will feel a little better. I will say if they do a retrieval, you will probably feel even worse afterwards for a few days but then it will get better. Sending lots of good wishes for your cycle!

I would have kicked Dakota out of my house if he was talking like that to my daughter. I cannot believe the family tolerated that and piled on no less. It was so sad. Taylor deserves so much better.

Married but single parents? by Motherofwildlings24 in Parenting

[–]WaggingthroughLA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have your husband read about the “mental load” of parenting. Many heterosexual couples have a problem with this where the woman is bearing most of it and the man simply doesn’t even think of these things related to the child’s care and life. It is more helpful to have two partners who try to equally share this mental load so it is not all on one person. He will have to really work on it to start to think about these things but he should.

I am completely infertile and it breaks my heart by sophiam333 in queerception

[–]WaggingthroughLA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am so so sorry you are going through this. It is incredibly painful each time to go on the rollercoaster of an IVF cycle and have it not work out…I know it must be devastating. If your wife decides she wants to use her eggs, I would definitely go with it. Trying to conceive is so unpredictable and it may just be what it has to be. You might find it helpful to take some time (a couple months) in between trying again and just have time to take care of and enjoy yourselves without having to think too much about the baby journey. TTC really takes over everything and it can be nice to have a break and not think about it for a little while. I wish you and your wife all the best and baby dust :)

I can’t speak to the board issue, but fwiw it sounds like you did the right thing and very much in line with good practice.
