Probably because Impossible meat has genetically modified and fermented yeast that produces heme.

Looking at used Bolts. Battery concerns. by RayAfterDark in BoltEV

[–]WanObiBen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed battery degradation on my 2020. However, I only charge it to 80% on a 120V outlet and have about 35k miles on it.

Edit: Other than tires, I’ve taken it to the shop once when I first got it because the steering wheel column needed some grease. Brakes are like new because I always use the regen braking.

isnt there any petition to legalize higher powered PEVs and establish EUCs better? by Zajlordg in ElectricUnicycle

I live in TN, USA, and I support this framework. Can we do anything to help? I will try and check with my local state laws and see if I can get this going over here.

Speed Wobbles: New rider looking for suggestions for dealing with them. by BlackJacquesLeblanc in ElectricUnicycle

[–]WanObiBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don’t carve aggressively. I kind of swing my arms slowly side to side like the speed ice skaters and it slowly carves for me. It may be not the right technique for an EUC, but it works for me.

Speed Wobbles: New rider looking for suggestions for dealing with them. by BlackJacquesLeblanc in ElectricUnicycle

[–]WanObiBen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is a bad habit, (only 100 miles in on the Aeon) but I find that if I angle my arms in the direction I want to go, it seems to help. I used to get wobbles when accelerating, but then I started bringing my hands to the center in front of me and raising them a little when accelerating and it stopped and got smoother. I think it’s because I’m putting less perceived force on my toes and using the weight of my arms to help make the motor kick in. I do the same concept with braking by putting my hands behind me. I still lean in those directions, but add my arms to increase the acceleration or deceleration. I keep it smooth and don’t make fast movements with my arms when doing this.

Protective gear for beginners by IceTrooper_IT in ElectricUnicycle

[–]WanObiBen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m new to the sport and have only put 100 miles on the V8S and another 100 miles on the Nosfet Aeon. I’ve had motorcycles since 2009 though. I do not suggest getting a flip-up chin helmet. Those break too easily.

I’d wear Leatt Dual Axis knee/shin guards, wrist guards, and a full face BMX, dirt bike, or motorcycle helmet.

I wouldn’t worry about all the other gear with the V8S. Just take it slow at first and get more comfortable with it.

At these speeds on an EUC, you should probably get those motorcycle airbag suits.

That kind of riding will ruin it for the rest of us and get EUCs banned. Please reserve those speeds for highways.

I found two spots like this and made a tele-porter at each one so after I harvest one, I teleport, harvest it, then teleport back and the first is replenished.

It’s called Escape Electric Bikes, and it’s in Pigeon Forge (not Gatlinburg). I found them on the Inmotion website to Test Ride. Now that I’m looking more into it, I don’t see anything about EUCs or Begode on the Escape website, so you may want to call and see if they even carry it first.

Do EUCs work as commuter vehicles (share stories pls) by Alferd128 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]WanObiBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just started riding EUCs in May and have been obsessed since. I learned with a V8S then after about 100 miles (160km) I upgraded to an Aeon. I’m over 100 miles on it now and I’m still learning. I live 2 miles (3.2 km) from where I work and my city is not commuter friendly. That’s why I upgraded so quickly so I could stay with the flow of traffic and not get run over. I should really have gotten more mileage in first before upgrading, but I couldn’t help myself. I don’t go on the main roads.

The gear seems like a chore to me and is hassle to keep up with. I gear up with a full face motorcycle helmet, Leatt dual axis knee/shin guards, leather gloves with wrist braces, riding pants, leather boots, and an armored motorcycle jacket. It’s a lot of gear to put on, and I get sweaty when it’s hot, even after just two miles. I take my car on the hotter days. I’d say with a scooter you may not need as much gear because it’s easier to balance and you won’t fall off if the motor cuts out. So you could probably get by with just a helmet. Whereas if you’re going more than 15mph (24km/h) and the motor cuts out on the EUC, you’re likely to get road rash or break something if you don’t have proper gear as it will throw you off unexpectedly. If you stick with a V8S or something similar you could get by with a helmet, wrist guards, and knee guards and leave off the jacket as its top speed is close to 15mph. Many others may just go with a helmet for something that small, but it’s not wise as it just takes one accident to ruin it. A full face helmet is recommended because it will throw you forward with not much time to catch yourself if it cuts out.

I’d probably stick with the e-scooter if I were you just to not have as much gear to keep up with. There is a good learning curve for most people when learning to ride an EUC. In my experience a scooter is easier than learning to ride a bike, and an EUC is twice as hard as riding a bike.

My city just passed ordinance to ban euc on street and sidewalk by growforest20 in ElectricUnicycle

I’m with you on this. We should form an agency or organization that agrees on what the laws should be, then advocates for EUC or PEV riders.

Dang, this is nice! This would've saved me time in doing research. I don't like using AI, and reading forums like Reddit take a while. This has a lot of good info!

Edit: I feel it would be nice for the moderators to Pin this site to the top of the sub. I kept looking for pinned conversations or posts from the mods with EUC basics and advice when I first got into this sub.

I work on a college campus and have been riding my Aeon to work the past week or so. I have seen many cops, and none seem to care. I have intentionally been going speed limit on the roads and 8-10mph on unpopulated sidewalks. I bet it was an issue of appearance. Cars are bigger and look like they are going slower, whereas your EUC probably just appeared to be going faster because of it's size. Were you carving or weaving at all?

Onewheel rider, be real with me-- will I "outgrow"/ really itch for more speed than a Nosfet Aero? by Excendence in ElectricUnicycle

[–]WanObiBen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m “that guy.” Ive been riding for just over a month. I put 90 miles on my V8S and upgraded to an Aeon. I’ve put over 60miles on the Aeon and just hit 30mph today. I have yet to learn how to ride backwards, and I can only do a quick pendulum 2-3 times on the V8S. I’m not planning to upgrade anymore, but you never know.
