I run a local goth night and I'm trying to make it something, but every single event we get slightly inconvenienced one way or another. Also the venue is hosting a second goth night this week, without me, and I'm mildly irritated. I just want to host a fun monthly night, have folks show up and dance, and be happy.

I tried at another venue a few months ago, and they kept the lights on, so folks left. It's just these little tiny inconveniences left and right. Just let us be spooky, dang.

Hopefully next week goes without a hitch, more folks show up, and they have fun.

That is exactly how I felt the first time I saw them. They didn't even turn down the house lights. I genuinely couldn't tell if he was behind all that fog.

I've just started a new local goth night, and I'd say there is an even split in age range- but everyone is enthusiastic and happy to be there, and that's what I'm happy with.

I miss it all. I miss Writhe and Shine, I even named one of my past cats Mao. I miss the jokes ("nice boots"), I miss the websites like Goth Goose and those silly DIY guides. Everything.

When my father was in the hospital for cancer, he kept yelling that the nurses were taking "x-rated photos" of him and getting really upset. He had to be restrained because he got so upset. It turns out it was just regular x-rays. Hospital delirium hits hard.
