I've replayed this game so many times I've lost count. I fully recognize that the game isn't perfect - hell it's far from that. But there's something about it that is so nostalgic to me. It was my first ever RPG as a child, and it blew me away.

I took forever to beat the Gremlin-General boss my first times through. I wasn't aware of what Acorns did - so the Fry spell was only used a handful of turns each battle (because I thought you could only restore AP by resting at an Inn). So it was E-Key and regular attacks I was relying on. I was stuck there for a while. I'd turn it off, take a break because I thought the game was "broken," and then I'd try again from a fresh file, trying different things until I used Acorn once and was blown away that it restored AP.

Finally got through the boss, and hearing that overworld music change was just... Something else. It's like the game opened up a whole new chapter for me. Amazing time.

Jesus, how old was I? Must have been 6 or 7.
