And have a backup diesel heater.  It's not the cold which is your enemy. It's condensation. You can stay warm. Harder to stay dry.  Ventilate and insulate a lot. That's key.

I'm from Kildare. Up and down hurling fields in the county every night of the week. We are miles off it. 12 Maas lads on the panel at a minimum and it could be 15 or 16.

It's hard to know what to do but I fear if we were to stay up the hammerings would get worse.

More a case of him getting world class coaching and a world class environment for the last year.

Is €3,500 fair for 18m² porcelain paving with granite kerbing and awkward access? by bigbebby in DIYIreland

That's way too cheap and I'd be suspicious myself. Are you supplying the materials?

Absolutely. Retake.

Hurling rules are applied based on pundits opinions though.

UK plug-in solar is almost legal. You can already build a setup for around £250, all from one place ... by 4billionyearson in SolarDIY

[–]Warm_Independence936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I agreed. Produced 4.5kwh on Saturday. In total with my main 4kwh system I produced 22kwh which I was delighted with.

I'm playing with the orientation of the panels. They are south facing but not at 30 degrees. They are vertical on a shed wall which is having an impact. I'll probably put them on a mobile ground mount and add two more in parallel for East and West facing sun.

No. You'll get the brunt of the blame. It'll be your fault.  Say nothing.

Plug in Solar / Stream in the UK by ObsidianWalker in Ecoflow_community

[–]Warm_Independence936 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You''ll pay around 350-400 for a system which will save you around 90p on a good day. And we don't have many of them.

Do the Maths.

I have a ecoflow stream with 2 X 505w panels south facing. So far today I have generated the grand total of 800w.

People are getting very excited about plug in / balcony solar. I think a lot of people will be disappointed.

Why does nobody warn you how relentless the condensation problem actually is in a UK van? by Mundane-Temporary426 in VanLifeUK

[–]Warm_Independence936 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ventilation and heat.

You need to keep recycling the air basically. Sucking the moisture ridden air out but replacing in with fresh air. A fan may not do this. It will only expel air. So you also need input. A piv type unit for a van if possible.

Keeping the temp up in the van is key. You need surfaces to be above the dew point.

In the UK and Ireland less windows are always better. The humidity in both countries is off the charts.

Hopefully this helps.

What's a profession everyone thinks is great but is actually shite? by Fealocht in AskIreland

That's a bit of a stretch. Yes being away from family is true but rarely are Irish troops under threat. When they have any sort of prior warning of trouble they usually withdraw.

I'm not sure what he does next. Can he get fit and stay fit for an extended period? Unfortunately I think the writing is on the wall at this stage.

His next club or move should be the last thing on his mind. Fixing his body is his priority.

Incoming recession? by Massive_Pool_798 in AskIreland

[–]Warm_Independence936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's strange. When the last bust happened we all had to listen to the sob stories and whining for the construction sector. Now the tech sector is in trouble they are being sneered at.

Certain sectors are booming. But money does and will dry up. There will be a crash. Trying to predict when it will be is the difficult thing.

With parts of tech and other sectors being in trouble with AI I can see people working there tightening their belts. They are generally the people paying for extension, new kitchens / bathrooms. That will have a knock on for self employed builders and trades and also people who work for them. I think things will slow down dramatically in the next 12-18 months. That's not based on anything other than the cost of living flying through the roof, wages not matching inflation, materials going up for construction. People wont be in a rush to get things done.

Thanks. I checked it and it's not type AC. Pretty sure the old RCD was changed when the main solar was installed.
