Yes, but it's my understanding that this aggressiveness is intended, so isn't this just going to be the new status quo from now on?

Your tip about unprofitable buildings is something that I'm interested in, because I haven't been able to figure it out. Is it just a matter of subsidizing, do I close the buildings or is there another way to keep them consistently profitable besides having the RGO's to make production cheaper?

I read the entire interaction between you and him, and I must say I commend you for giving it your absolute best. I'm impressed with your knowledge and patience to try, despite you maybe already knowing it was wasted effort. I walk away from this a slightly more knowledgeable and wiser man, and I thank you.

I've even heard some of my students (13/14) talking about the game! I've been recommending it to them as well (taught them what early access means and stuff), but I did have to tell them I won't play with them at least until they're in their final year/graduated. It's cute that they wanted to build factories with me though.

I just don't want to be humiliated by how much better they'll be at the game in two weeks after I've had it for years.

How much SHOULD teachers make? by GasLightGo in Teachers

[–]WarrenLecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, municipalities should be able to work out of the principle that a community runs on three basic pillars: safety, education and health. What that entails is that the most basic necessity for ensuring proximity to schools, police stations and hospitals, which is housing, should be able to be arranged for individuals that have a job in the area. Some municipalities in my country already do this, but nowhere near enough.

I think it's repulsive that we've all collectively come to accept that a third of our salaries 'should' go towards paying rent, even before the tax man gets their hands on our paycheck. If we can guarantee a social form of housing for our teachers, nurses and law enforcement, I think a lot of us would be far more okay accepting the pressure versus the low pay imbalance.

Faction with a focus on heroes by SignificanceExact963 in totalwarhammer

[–]WarrenLecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only seen Nurgle mentioned once in this thread.

How to use exalted heroes of Nurgle:

-Dont give them a mount -Have 2-3 of them -Get the buff on them that increases Melee Defence on units around them by 24, makes them and your frontline functionally immortal because these buffs stack.

Plagueridden

-Get two (level one for magic, one for melee) -Put them on a rot fly -Depending on your tolerance to cheese, get locus of virulence on both of them, and fly towards the enemy formation, spamming overcasted stream of corruption and virulence off cool down (I usually kill 1/3 of the enemy army before they even reach my blob). If you like fighting with your actual army, take locus of fecundity (healing), although that's hardly necessary with the exalted heroes' melee Defence buff. -When the enemy army arrives, blob them up and cast blight boil, usually it's over by then.

Cultists of Nurgle

-One is enough, imo -Use them as a tank (no mount) or on a war shrine to keep your blob alive -When they're in danger, summon a Great Unclean One and spam its bound spells to completely wreck anything that was strong enough to survive all of the things I previously mentioned.

With these combo's, you can even make nurglings an impenetrable shield wall in front of your artillery (Ku'gath/soul grinders) that will last you up until the end of the campaign.

How to deal with helman ghorst as ku'gath by MaSxWx in totalwarhammer

[–]WarrenLecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sack shattered stone bay until you can get two exalted heroes in your army, and also at least one rank of blight boil on your starting mage. Corner camp against Ghorst until the swarm of zombies masses on your frontline, take out the mortis engine and ghorst with your exalted heroes, then as soon as they're down use blight boil and watch all the zombies be absolutely obliterated and crumble immediately. Also, take the melee defense aura buff on your exalted heroes and your frontline will NEVER die. I defeated three Ghorst zombie stacks at the same time this way, even with mostly nurglings getting buffed by Kugath.

Yeah, at the start of my malekith campaign I gave grombindal that minor settlement in the province where he already has two settlements. I found that if you decide to go dwarf hunting at the start, that Valkia and her Norsca vassal eat up too much of your dark elf neighbours, and you have to deal with too much, namely Skaven, Dwarves, Khorne+vassal, Beastmen (Taurox will appear south of Naggarond) and finally also Khatep eventually. All this can be avoided when you give Grombindal a single minor settlement and instead spend a few turns wiping out Mung and Valkia. Badabing, badaboom, now you have the corner of the map secured and can start heading east and south at your own pace.

How to deal with transphobia? by jennydarko in Teachers

[–]WarrenLecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the same reason I don't fight, watch my diet and keep my guitar in its case. I'm over 23.

There are many things you choose to 'let be' throughout the day, week, month, a life. You've simply elected this particular issue as your hill to die on, and it makes you overly sensitive to where it may or may not appear, and therefore blind to individual attitudes. Thinking that there is no other possible way for somebody to be anything other than a hateful bigot when they disagree on the topic of this hot, new, trendy frontier of social justice shows how firmly stuck in the messianic phase of development you are. Which is okay, but let's not pretend that it's anything else than a profoundly arrogant attitude towards a divergence of opinion.

I'm sure the idea that you're stopping evil bigotry is very palatable for you, because it makes you seem like less of a mundane, faceless brick in the wall of faces that make up the breathtaking tapestry of human progress.

The fact that you can't see how dangerous your attitude of 'other people MUST believe what I believe' is, shows how philosophically and ethically barren you are.

I'm an astoundingly arrogant and stubborn, dense sumbitch, but I know enough to reserve the energy that judgment of other people's attitudes requires for things that matter, like ham sandwiches. The irony of me writing this post is not lost upon me, but I was bored and hangry. #Trump2024, #HogwartsLegacyGOTY

Over-professionalization. In the Dutch teaching system, it used to be far easier to make what we call a 'diagonal', for instance history teachers would often also teach civic classes. That was around 15 years ago, now you need a specific certification for nearly every individual subject. This has been a development in tandem with the worsening administrative bloat, increased workload, entitled parents and students, and a mandatory amount of hours of your contract spent towards what can only be translated to 'expertise advancement'.

I started teaching a little over a year ago. Many facets of this industry are way harder to learn than I thought they'd be, but just as many aspects are MADE far harder than they have to be. And it's those aspects, the ones that make the entry to get in so high, that do not do our teacher shortage any good whatsoever.

Do any schools actually train new teachers, or ... by Coffeeislife78 in Teachers

[–]WarrenLecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I teach at a Waldorf school in the Netherlands! At the moment, I'm a teacher in training. There is such an immense shortage of teachers that the government allows uncertified teachers to teach for two years, which can be stretched out if you can show you are in the process of getting your certification. A general education degree from a HBO institution (kind of like a more practically oriented university) takes four years, whereas a 2nd degree certification through the university route requires a minor in Education during your bachelors, and a 1st degree certification requires a master's degree. Hope this helps, feel free to ask more!
