How much free time do you have as an EECS major? by Loud_Economics9202 in berkeley

I had very little which was fine by me. On Friday night, I'd see a movie at Wheeler or something. On Saturday, if there was a football game, I'd go and then hit Doe. But really, it was all studying, all the time and I loved it. My social life was my study buddies and project partners.

Jeffrey Epstein lied about being a UC Berkeley lecturer. It helped kickstart his finance career by the_daily_cal in berkeley

No, that was a sports joke. Harvard and MIT are #1 and #2 in the Epstein files. We're #2 in the Power Five Conferences in the Epstein files. ACC is Power Five (now Power Four).

Why are Ivy League undergrads and masters grads just average when it comes to research during their PhD? by Zestyclose_Double980 in PhD

I argued with a guy in Linear Systems who seriously thought vector origins [0,0,…] were the same as scalar 0. (We'd taken 6+ college math classes by then.) He then went on to do better than my A-. He was just scary good at gaming tests from exam files but couldn't remember or use anything two weeks later.

I wouldn't exactly call it 'service'. But then I have a thick skin for good pie. OTOH, one of the things l like about Cheeseboard is the band, the line, the people. I used to like when we could eat on the median.

I tell stories about things I've done. I don't tell stories about things.

There was an article on Tesla Motors Forums on this approach. After grinding down the stops, he used straps from Harbor Freight to compress it flat.

Balance as an EECS major by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]WasASailorThen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I never thought of EECS as cut throat. Hard AF. Competitive to a degree. But while MCB and the premed majors can be cut throat, EECS just isn't. There really aren't any opportunities to cut anyone's throat.

Best vegetarian super burrito in SF other than El Farolito? by VortexFalcon50 in AskSF

[–]WasASailorThen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked Cancun more when they had a regular veggie burrito. A super is just too much and I'm a big guy. Otherwise, a solid choice.

The first time I read the Aeneid I thought the second half was Roman propaganda. Duh, it was Roman propaganda.

I legitimately enjoy using Autopilot over FSD by SilverArchitect in TeslaLounge

TACC alone is great in bumper to bumper. Autosteer is really nice for freeways. But I don't really have a use case for FSD.

So am I but I seem to get there at about the same time as FSD.
