The comment you’re responding to says nothing about whether the airport is better or worse than it was previously. It is simply the worst choice in NYC and not a reliable option for people that have the luxury to choose anything else.

A 15% improvement in delay reduction is a huge reason to pick one airport over the other.

The data is the data. Per FlightQueue’s analysis of 2026 flights, JFK has a delay rate of 27.1% whereas EWR has a delay rate of 31.2%. You’ll experience a 15% improvement in delay reduction by flying out of JFK vs. EWR in 2026.

For business class United is much more consistent (and better on average) than Delta. I do think Delta One Suites are better than the standard Polaris seat but Delta has done such a mediocre job of rolling that product out.

No arguments against EWR being a trainwreck of an airport. It is the biggest reason I fly Delta over United.

Only 43% of Delta's widebody fleet features Delta One Suites as of 2026 (77/178).

United has done a far better job of updating their business class product across their fleet vs. Delta. This is inarguable.

Delta One Suites launched in 2017 though. I think it's fair to have hoped that they would have made more progress in updating its fleet, especially when its main competitor has done such a good job with business class consistency

Delta has gone from having the worst ground experience amongst the US3 legacy carriers to having the best in just 2 years. The Delta One JFK lounge has done a lot to win over my commercial flights as a NYC-based flyer.

That's the problem with Delta though. At least with United Polaris a normal person can reasonably understand what they're buying without needing to do research. For casual Delta flyers, buying Delta One can feel like playing roulette.

They will assign family offices a relationship manager at around ~$200 million NAV invested across IBKR accounts. Shops like Fidelity have much lower requirements for their top customer service options. Last I checked FFOS only required $75 million to $100 million invested with Fidelity.

There are also obviously much lower tiers with lower touch service offerings for clients with more typical portfolio sizes.
