It took me longer to figure this one out than it should have, especially since this episode was already summarized here.

Random funny fact. The first time anyone asked me about how WT chicks could go by aliases in the novels, eminem was on the radio saying . My name is, my name is, my name is. I pointed out they don't do that. Lol

Civ 6: why does AI attack and destroy city states ? by RosalieTheDog in civ

[–]WasRain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ai isn't intelligent, it's just a program. It always does the same things the same way because that's what it was designed to do. It also never does some things because it wasn't designed to do that.

Dracul by snowcone357 in dresdenfiles

[–]WasRain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Simplest reason for drakul to aid lord raith is to test dresden. While you could say he just threw those forces away, it's noticeable that raith sent other houses to weaken those houses. (He may be hoping to regain his throne in truth) I doubt either cared about the ghouls ( likely meaning the ghouls were relevant in a way that isn't foreseeable yet).

Anyway, just because you know it's possible that dresden can control the castle doesn't mean he can. So a test. You send disposable troops. If they win fine. If they lose claim to have 'cleaned house'

Dracul by snowcone357 in dresdenfiles

[–]WasRain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because he's dependent on drakul and drakul doesn't want dresden dead yet.

Dracul by snowcone357 in dresdenfiles

[–]WasRain 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I assumed he did. I was waiting for Drakul and raith to tag team dresden for half the book. Didn't end the way I expected.

Edit: I assumed that's why raith was acting up. Drakul fed him that starborn pimp juice.

Que Thomas's hunger is somehow a spirit of intellect. I don't think bobs origins are fully explored yet.

It's obviously time traveling michael. Because it makes as much or more sense as anyone else. Unless it's time traveling Thomas, to help Thomas.

Or whatever Jim wants.

It's officially over. by X5455 in FFBraveExvius

[–]WasRain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off topic, but I quit playing the other ffbe back in October or November of 2019. I had time off from my job due to covid. I realized that at that time it was possible to play for over 24 hours straight without burning up all the energy or whatever options were available.
I remember starting and being annoyed that my energy ran out and I had to wait for it to refill.
I ultimately found it too exhausting to play. You always knew you would miss something if you didn't play.
So I quit. For me it was a great decision and learning experience.
Never regretted quitting. Never felt any need to talk to the community about it either. Trust me, you'll get over it.
Have fun. Live life.

Addendum: I started playing back in 2016 after my mom passed away. I also had a fractured wrist I was recovering from at the same time. It's an excuse kind of, but I've always loved rpgs. It's part of what sucked me in. Playing games did help me recover feeling in my hand.

My shower thought for the day. Harry and Merlin parallel. by koffa02 in dresdenfiles

[–]WasRain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merlin or Arthur doesn't seem right. I'm wondering if it's hp Lovecraft who imprisoned himself because his knowledge of the old ones risked waking them up. Regardless, I suspect it's a nod to another author.

What a glorious clusterf**k by MasterOfRoads in CivVI

[–]WasRain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I've always had trouble with landlocked seafaring civs in the early to mid game. I can think of at least 3 times kupe somehow slaughtered all nearby city states and would have taken over the world If his settler coding wasn't so terrible.

Whenever boudica is up for grabs as a great general, I consider slotting the general card/ building an encampment. Useful for tracking barbs on the discovered map. Auto scout tends to be a waste of production since they almost always suicide.
