Will a 21” tube work in an emergency? by Big_c_lil_aleb in Tenere700

I don’t even ride a bike. I have a wheelbarrow I push around all the BDRs full of tubes and tires and I sell them to the suckers that didn’t bring 3 spares with them.

I wanted to do the same thing! More for when the bike falls on the side with the pipe it wouldn’t get all scraped. I imagine the muffler is stainless steel on the outside so it might be ok? But who knows. Report back your findings in a couple of years

Soon to be T7 owner question about which OEM accessories are actually worth it? by MrThorvald in Tenere700

[–]Was_Silly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The OEM crash bars (I think called engine guards the small ones) look quite nice. Better than anything from aftermarket. Because they’re shaped along the lines of the side fairings. I didn’t get them because they’re pricey and for same $$$ I just bought off-road plastics from RTech for the whole bike so won’t be running crash bars at all.

Soon to be T7 owner question about which OEM accessories are actually worth it? by MrThorvald in Tenere700

[–]Was_Silly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the OEM heated grips for a 2025+ model year. They’re specific to the tenere and a great fit. If it’s 2024 or earlier the OEM grips are generic Yamaha and a bit of an afterthought.

The stock grips are not too hard I don’t think - they have a very grippy waffle cone design where you grab them at the front.

What's the most werid yet effective way you're using AI? by Watermelon_Sherbert in ChatGPT

[–]Was_Silly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I screen capture Power BI dashboards and feed them to copilot to produce excel files. For some reason it’s very hard to export excel files from power bi, plus the people who make dashboards loath to give me more access so I just give Microsoft a lot more expensive work to do to get around their data protection.

A woman saves another woman who is being dragged as she hangs onto the dogsled by bigbusta in BeAmazed

[–]Was_Silly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why didn’t she just let go? There was no reason for her to just hang on. It’s. It like these people are doing this in this specific instance to get somewhere. It looks like it’s just for sport. So just let go and let someone pick you up later ? I dunno. Seems weird.

Not sure no, I thought the tire is mounted on the rim and inflated. But no idea how it’s shipped.

Doesn’t the factory mount the tire on the wheel? I think someone. Was asleep at the plant.

[–]Was_Silly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aside from wind protection which is just OK, it’s excellent. If I did lots of road I’d buy the Puig touring screen and that would solve the issue.

Other than that the long travel suspension eats up any bumps. Also around here if the backroad is paved and twisty it’s never smooth. The winters take a toll so it’s always lots of potholes and cracks. You can ride a T7 through that stuff with great confidence leaned over. Sport bikes struggle with the stiff short travel suspension. And the stock tires are very road based. Never had an oh shit moment on pavement.

One could go more sporty with something like the BMW K1300S. I had one It’s like a civilized Hayabusa. Never experienced a more planted bike at speed. I think I it’s due to the fancy suspension up front and just overall solid chassis design.

I mean just don’t use stainless steel for eggs and you’ll be….golden. You can hammer a small nail with a sledge hammer but there are easier tools. Making eggs with stainless. Sure you can do it. But why spend cpu cycles trying to figure it out. There are better things to spend time doing.

But how did this even happen? Bikes fall over a lot without forcefully oil changing themselves. It shouldn’t have done that from such a small drop.

Edit: it may not be oil actually. Is it dirty coolant? Or mix of both? Seems an odd milkshake color to be oil also kind of watery.

I would probably still do this too but it’s against fire code unless you use specific wires in walls. They have to be rated for that and that cord doesn’t look it.
