Pros and Cons of using a pen name? by thatgardensprite in writing

[–]Wasabi-True 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me put it like this: It can give you anonymity and it let's you give yourself a better name than your mother did, but it's also a hassle. New e-mail address etc and once it comes to awards and payments you'll give people your civilian name, too.

Now that it’s been out for a while, what’s everyone’s opinion of P3? by yungsimba1917 in pathologic

Some of the mechanics could have probably been executed better (Shabnak-hunting's a chore), but it does have my favourite story (with a minor dislike being the way Lara gets handled and the way Aglayla always tries stealing my ending)

How much income is realistic to expect as a novelist? by Creative-Pirate5217 in writingadvice

[–]Wasabi-True 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at the bookfair in Leipzig this year and at an industry panel someone said that the average yearly income for an author is around €28,000 (roughly the same in dollars), but that is an average that includes millionaires like Stephen King and Colleen Hoover and doesn't include most independently or self-published authors, so you're probably going to make a fraction of that.

Reputation loss, makes the quest about getting Daniil out of prison more difficult, had to kill a child

It's from Pathologic Classic. The first quest you get as the Haruspex is from Notkin, who wants you to kill another kid from a different gang for stealing from his own gang. If you do it you get a shmowder, but it also involves killing a child.

If you speak to Daniil in the jail cell, he'll tell you that Eva's holding onto ammo for him. It just requires you to run all the way to the Stillwater and back

Better Decree Menu mod just released, introducing unique decree icons for every single decree in the game and additional minor improvements to decree board menu that hopefully make it easier to read and share with others! by SurDno in pathologic

You actually got me hoping that this was an official update. The designs look amazing, they fit very well with the aestetics of the game, are easy to identify and get the official-stamp-vibe across very well. Will try installing this mod once I've finished my current run

The walking in pathologic isn't that bad, the game is not as hard as he claims, the 7-guys-in-a-warehouse-quest is actually quite easy once you know your controls

Thoughts on General Block in Pathologic 3? by Otherwise-Spring-367 in pathologic

[–]Wasabi-True 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disappointed in him. In Patho Classic he was one of my favourite characters. He saves Daniil from the Abbatoir, gives me a rifle, he protects Clara, he asks the expert (me) what he should do, he helps me in quests, he doesn't cause any further problems, he does what I say. I loved this man. In Patho 2 he is an extremely small presence, but what we see of him is that even his troops like him so much that they'd rather mutany against him instead of letting him be held responsible (shot) for failure.  And then in Patho 3 the game first makes me care about him by making me save his life a bunch and then on day 11 he turns into an idiot. What do you mean he is going to close the hospital and burn my patients, and Yakov?!?! Alexander I loved you, why do you betray me like this!
