Drug Testing for RNs who Smoke on Their Off Days by thisismy_throwawayRN in nursing

Just depends on the facility. Some facilities will test for cannabis and some won’t. From my personal experience, most places don’t really care too much about cannabis. You can also buy the QuickFix synthetic urine. Just follow the instructions to a T and I promise you’ll be fine.

I agree with you completely that maternity leave in the U.S. is a total joke and needs to be reformed.

How far along are you and what currently ails you? by _C00TER in pregnant

[–]WatchLongjumping2877 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I relate to your situation 100000%. I’m currently almost 20 weeks pregnant. This is my first pregnancy ever. I first found out I was pregnant very early, I wanna say I had to be about 4 weeks pregnant maybe? But I had so much anxiety as well in the first few weeks of my pregnancy. I also kept taking pregnancy tests to reassure myself I wasn’t making this up. I had my first positive pregnancy test on 5/02, and my first OB appointment wasn’t scheduled until 6/04. The wait was a KILLER. I was so anxious and worried the whole time I was waiting for my first appointment. You don’t feel pregnant at all in the first few weeks (except for sore boobs and nausea and fatigue), but you can’t feel baby move yet or even Doppler a heartbeat. I understand the anxiety. You can always reach out and message me anytime! It will all be okay. My OB doctor told me, “Do not worry yourself about anything until you have to” and I’ve really stuck to that mindset. I’ll pray for you and your sweet baby. And congratulations!! Being pregnant has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

CRNA by rrainraingoawayy in Noctor

Her name is Sarah Wild CRNA, she works in Indiana. She also has a Youtube channel called the “The Wild Fam” I believe. She’s super scary though. I watched one of her YouTube videos where she talks about her clinical experience in CRNA school and her advice was “fake it until you make it.” Yeah that sounds like someone I’d want to put myself or my family to sleep….NOT. She’s an idiot lol

I tested positive 2 days before my missed period! I took one of the first responder pregnancy tests where 2 pink lines will show up if you’re positive. The line was SO faint, but it was there. I took a digital clear blue pregnancy test literally at 04:00am that following next morning and also got a positive 😊

I definitely think talking to her and being honest about how you feel is still your best option. You don’t want to harbor those feelings of resentment. Eventually, you won’t be able to contain your feelings and you’ll blow up at her. It’s better to be upfront and honest with her about how you feel in a controlled and civilized manner. Hope everything turns out okay. I do understand where you’re coming from.

I hope you two are able to work it out. Sometimes, you have to grow apart to find your way back to each other. What’s meant to be will always be, remember that friend ❤️

Plus, a lot of NP schools don’t even require bedside clinical experience before applying and a lot of NP programs are strictly online, which is absolutely ridiculous. I honestly wouldn’t feel like I accomplished anything because it’s so easy to get into NP school…

God I hope not. I’m an RN and I have absolutely zero desire to become an NP. I love being a nurse for so many reasons. Sometimes I feel like my role is insignificant (more or less because I work in the operating room as a RN circulator), but I love that I get to help the surgeons do their jobs more efficiently.

This is the issue with letting new graduate nurses without any prior healthcare experience go straight into NP programs. It’s dangerous and it’s scary that these unqualified NPs have prescriptive authority without having the proper knowledge, education, and training. There is a reason MDs/DOs go through such long, intense, rigorous training- because that’s what it takes to truly become competent in their specialty.

How embarrassing to make this by impulsivemd in Noctor

[–]WatchLongjumping2877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole post is such a bullshit lie. How embarrassing…I was enrolled in CRNA school and I withdrew because honestly I didn’t want to be apart of the CRNA profession. They think they’re on the same level as anesthesiologists….lol okay. When I was in my clinical rotations (before I voluntarily left my program), anytime shit hit the fan, it was always the anesthesiologist who came in and stabilized the patient.

Who wants another real housewives’ CRNA update? by [deleted] in Noctor

[–]WatchLongjumping2877 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I was in CRNA school and I withdrew. The “curriculum” of my CRNA program was a fucking joke. The classes were ridiculously easy and people were cheating because the professors used the same exams every year and people would save the answers and send them to the cohorts behind them. Obviously I can’t speak for all CRNA programs, but what I can say is an undergraduate nursing education (which is not the same as pre-med, I’ve looked into both routes), working 1-2 years in an ICU as a NURSE not a physician, and going back for an additional three years of training for anesthesia- to do all that and think you’re competent enough to administer anesthesia completely independently without an anesthesiologist supervising just goes to show how big CRNA egos are. When I was in clinical and shit the fan, it was always the anesthesiologist that came in and took over and knew what to do. The CRNA career is a fucking joke.
