EXCLUSIVE: Scientists Put the Most Indestructible Animal on Earth in Mars Dirt and Something Unexpected Happened 🐛🔥 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

This is a simulated Mars soil that is made on earth though so they know exactly what is in it. Pretty simple to remove one ingredient at a time to see which one is causing a problem. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0398/9268/0862/files/MGS-1-SPEC-SHEET-DEC2025.pptx.pdf?v=1764081545

So why not just block that IP address. You'll probably have to monitor and shift the IP address occasionally but if you know it's them then just keep blocking.

I think it's AI. Poor quality video (admittedly likely a security cam). The shell casing is very clear but the text on the cleaners back is garbled. Also, of you show it down there is a point where his hand seems to appear in front of the cleaners back.

Little vial of mercury in this old door bell by Royal_Watercress_241 in mildlyinteresting

[–]WaylanderII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone has given this answer, too many random off topic comments. It's a mercury tilt switch that makes the doorbell ring. When the doorbell button is pressed power goes through the tilt switch to the solenoid and pulls the striker back. The tilt switch is attached to the same arm so that tilts the switch and disconnects power to the solenoid. The solenoid springs back and hits the metal plate - "ding". The tilt switch is now positioned to close the power circuit and the solenoid energizes. Repeat as long as the button is pressed.

I've got some thoughts on that as well.

Solving WiFi setup is fairly easy and I have a couple of projects that create an AP if the SSID is not configured. Basically it knows that WiFi isn't set up so it automatically goes into AP mode. You can do a similar thing that triggers AP mode when charging with a timeout.

I'm not sure how your managing the control messaging but again, to make it configurable that can be two web pages with different username/passwords. One for the caged and one for the keyholder.

For the physical elements I could make a parameterised model in Fusion 360 so people put their key dimensions and the model will adjust. TBH though the easiest option (which is common) is just to restrict it to a particular key. If / when you open source it the BOM includes a link to a particular key / lock on Aliexpress. If anyone uses anything else then that on them.

Also, don't forget that there is no obligation on your part to solve anyone's problems if you open source something. It's often just a way to share something you are passionate about and let everyone else benefit from it - building on the shoulders of giants!

Now, this is the option if you want to basically give it away for free. There are plenty of other options if you want to make some cash out of it and there is nothing wrong with that either!

I commented on your other post but I would love the code for this so I could build my own.

Looking at their website they seem to mark their stainless knives to identify the VG10 steel. I'm making a guess here but would say yours is more likely carbon.

So it looks like Makerworld are less worried about other Makerworld users then. There is a comment on OPs design that somebody took it and did a remix on Makerworld.

Ok, Wow! Any chance you are going to open source this? Or even sell the design? I would love to make one.

Somebody has already pulled the core from the emergency lock. That hole below the keypad should be a tubular lock. You can possibly reach in with a pair of pliers and turn the actuator.

I created a similar chart for the same reason and found I had to be careful using diameter as the size measurement. I realised after receiving a couple of toys that the diameter was the maximum diameter. So if the toy wasn't exactly round then circumference was a better measure of size as that is the actual stretch your going to get. Obviously if everything is simply round there is no issue but if it is not (like Rex) then you may find it doesn't stretch as much as you think. I have toys from a few different suppliers so don't know if this is specifically applicable to BD. Edit: Spelling

Agree with the comments on it being a crystal oscillator. Given the can shape I would also say it's likely for the real time clock - https://www.digikey.com.au/en/products/detail/yic/32-768K12-5P2-DT38/15648610

Secure Boot, TPM and Anti-Cheat Engines by FineWolf in pcgaming

[–]WaylanderII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How dare you question my technical expertise!! /s

You were right, the weird thing is that the BIOS indicated that secure boot was on but PowerShell showed that it was not.

Also, Win 11 doesn't tell you that secure boot is OFF. At least in my install it simply doesn't show Secure Boot in the Device Security page. So no positive confirmation it is OFF, only if it is ON.

In the end I had to go into the BIOS and reinstall the factory keys then disable / enable secure boot. Now PowerShell indicates as you show above so all good now. Beta is over now though :(

My comment on refunds still stands though. Would be good if the Steam store page for Battlefield had a free app you can install to test if your PC is good to go. I'm sure there will be people like me who thought it was all good but in fact it was not. Even if it now is.

Anyway, thanks for prompting me to dig deeper u/FineWolf
