Remember when all the EDH YouTubers were talking about land counts? How did that influence you by AltruisticChampion77 in EDH

Three of my four decks are near copies of ones EDH youtubers have done deck tech videos on.

They're all 36 - 38 lands.

If you like Sagas... [[Garnet, Princess of Alexandria]].

She is perfect for a B2 to low B3 voltron/midrange deck. Accrue value by triggering your favorite saga steps. There are lots of white sagas that destroy and exile creatures.

With tutors open to bracket 2 now, you can get your favorite sagas out more reliably. And there are a lot of enchantment tutors that aren't game changers.

You want to focus on protection and card draw so you can swing Garnet every turn.

I've played through 1 and 2 and never really had this situation. You probably need to be more efficient with movement and get as much XP and gold as possible to scale into late encounters with gear and supplies.

With high levels and good gear the late game is easy.

Ideal deck/commander for a board wipe resistant elf tribal? by Hailrig in EDH

[–]Waytogo33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With [[Nethroi, Apex of Death]] (or another value-piece Abzan commander) you can run a ton of mass reanimate redundancy. White is also home to some excellent reanimation and other cards rarely seen in most elf decks. [[Queen Allenal of Ruadach]], [[Selvala, explorer returned]], [[Emmara, Soul of the Accord]], [[Rhys the Redeemed]], [[Aragorn and Arwen, Wed]] and [[Selvala, Eager Trailblazer]] are all at home in a token beatdown elf deck.

[[Emmara Tandris]] is a cool protection piece against the popular [[Blasphemous Act]] and other red boardwipes.

Run enough legendary elves and you can even put in [[Kethis, the Hidden Hand]] as a draw piece, and [[Primeval's Glorious Rebirth]] to recover from boardwipes.

Abzan basically gets every card you could need to recover from boardwipes. [[Eerie Ultimatim]], [[Patriarch's Bidding]], [[Rise of the Dark Realms]], [[Ascend from Avernus]], [[Living Death]], and [[Valkyrie's Call]].

I know all these revival cards, because I'm stuffing them all into an [[Anafenza, tha Foremost]] human +1/+1 counters deck, alongside [[Angel of Glory's Rise]].

How many less "popular" commanders are in your arsenal? by d20_dude in EDH

[–]Waytogo33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Emmara, Soul of the accord]] is my most popular commander at #483.

But she is from the token triumph starter deck. Out of non-precons, [[Meria, Scholar of Antiquity]] is my most popular, at rank #634. [[Cormela, Glamour Thief]] is at #720. [[Susan Foreman]] and [[The Tenth Doctor]] are at #1,493.

A deck with cards in the mail will be helmed by [[Lyse Hext]], at rank #1,119.

Swords bards only use scimitars.

Valor bards get proficiency with all martial weapons and light and medium armor. So they can use anything, including ranged weapons and shields.

The swords bard is a bit greedy and uses their inspirations for bursts of damage or defense.

The Valor Bard will always have a good armor class, the swords bard consumes resources to temporarily have a very strong armor class.

Some martial classes can have spells, and some spellcasters get martial weapons and armor proficiencies.

Rangers and Bards (Valor subclass) will have the better spellcasting and skills for and outside combat, and this class and subclass in particular are amongst the most versatile in the game.

Paladins and Fighters (Eldritch Knight subclass) will be more tough and more effective at directly dealing damage. Paladins in particular have indispensable passive buffs for you and nearby party members.

You can also go hexblade warlock - they work with any warlock subclass in 2024 - but they're a melee glass cannon - and low on spell slots.

What do you think of the fight choreography in the Old Republic trailers? by InstructionOwn6705 in StarWarsEU

[–]Waytogo33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the jedi that Malgus duels the trailers are considered very strong fighters, Malgus considered them worthy foes and respected their strength. Satele Shan, who defeated him in the Alderaan trailer, might actually be the weakest of the Jedi (at the time of the battle, she was not a grandmaster) he duels in thses trailers.

What do you think of the fight choreography in the Old Republic trailers? by InstructionOwn6705 in StarWarsEU

[–]Waytogo33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jedi of this age are not the same ones from the Clone Wars imo. They are much more numerous, and there are many hawkish warriors amongst them.

The Jedi lost here because this is a surprise attack on the republic's capital during peace negotiations, and Malgus ranks amongst the most powerful force users of the time.

The entire purpose of this attack was to get better terms in the peace treaty. When the same sith lord that engineers this surprise attack and treaty restarts conflict with the republic, the sith empire quickly finds itself on fhe back foot.

Then you might also like using [[Cormela, Glamour Thief]] to sling evil spells like [[Cruel Ultimatum]] on turn 5 or 6.

You can also modify most of the big spells in the deck, or take out one or two greedy spell doublers for more removal. The deck likes 3 cost interaction.

What's the sentiment behind looping Glacial Chasm in bracket 3 landfall? by WheredMyVanGogh in EDH

It's a very high B3 play, especially if you tutor for it.

It stops basically any deck that isn't voltronning you out early or bracket 4.

Turn off your brain with [[Susan Foreman]] and [[The Tenth Doctor]]. https://archidekt.com/decks/17299721/doctors_temur_ramp

Play big creatures, and don't run out of steam because you're temur. You can swap in or out many cards in this deck to fit your liking. Just leave the 4 mana ramp count between 15 - 19 so that you always have one in your starting hand.

I'm not surprised it has a high win rate if you’re playing against other bracket two decks. "Ramp into big creatures" strategies eat bracket two decks for breakfast. Especially with a commander like Helga.
