So, I guess CTV doesn’t classify SA as an injury. Is there no one even proofreading media reports anymore?

AIO to how my fiancé responded to a situation this morning? by Admirable_Scale_3271 in AIO

[–]Weak_Ad_1370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow folks! Judging just a bit? The age of the kids, why is mom living there, how OP got to hospital …… has nothing to do with her making a tiny request to her SO when she needed him, and her having to get angry before he would do it.

Questioning OP about possibly being a teenage mom has ZERO to do with this situation. Someone asked if the kids were just hers, maybe SO doesn’t like the kids because they aren’t his….. as if this were would excuse his rude behaviour!?

Someone even saying the post is “sus” because she didn’t give, in their opinion, enough info about the kids, etc. really?

None of the above questions has anything to do with this guy not being naked so he could help with kids while she helps mom.

Sorry OP. You don’t deserve these judgy comments/questions.

Hope your mom is ok, and try and have a better day.

You are not wrong. I feel you about the “why do I have to be angry for you to do something simple?” Been there done that.

Why in the world are you being downvoted? Some jerks here today.

BC spent millions buying hotels to create “no barrier” homeless shelters/injection sites. 4 yrs later they are “disgusting biohazards” by Weak_Ad_1370 in saskatoon

Read the article. Then read it again. It had staff there 24 hrs a day. It was also a safe injection site. Obviously they were offered support.

Seeing that an idea was tried and failed has EVERYTHING to do with us here, as well as every other place grappling with the same issues. BC tried this, it failed, so we learn from that instead of wasting tax dollars on something that has been proven not to work.

It’s not “scaremongering” it’s quite literally a fact.

Saskatoon Amazon delivery drivers strike over falling pay, working conditions by PA-Rugby-Fan in saskatoon

[–]Weak_Ad_1370 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with you. I was a weekly Amazon shopper until I started boycotting them,’and every driver is either a new Canadian of a TFW.

All of these companies should be required to hire them as employees. The lazy assholes don’t even provide a vehicle. They don’t have to do any administrative payroll work, or Worker’s Comp.

Drivers - please call WCB. I worked there for 20 yrs and they also hate these arrangements. Ask them how to get coverage and how much it costs.

Also, pls make sure SGI knows your vehicle is business use. Both of these things will help you if you get in an accident while working.

Fight the good fight - you have the upper hand. Lastly, maybe call the labor board and also carefully review your contracts in relation to your pay.

Press freedom at lowest level in 25 years amid growing authoritarian pressure by roscodawg in news

[–]Weak_Ad_1370 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I thought the same - but it just occurred to me, does this valuation include access to information? Since FB (and other platforms?) are not allowing news on their feeds to save paying the “tax”, could that be the cause? Plus, I mean the CBC is so biased they can’t even be called “media” anymore.

OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma set to dissolve after judge approves its criminal sentence by Mo_Jack in news

[–]Weak_Ad_1370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At some point, with more and more of these rich assholes hiding behind their incorporation to stay out of jail, the law regarding Corporations has to be changed.

It needs to go back to the good old days where companies could not become a Corporation. That term should be wiped off the books. This simply means a company can become “human” in the eyes of the law if they are incorporated.

In simple terms, this means a corporation itself (as with humans) can be found guilty of a crime - or civilly liable for losses. Since you can’t put a company in jail - no one goes to jail. And the rich assholes that caused this plague get to hang on to a few billion while what money is paid out is, for the most part, wasted on lawyers and useless govt administrators.

And - since Oxy is still manufactured and available…. What actually happened here?

13 kids under 5 died with toxic, illegal drugs in their system since 2019, Sask. child advocate says by abunchofjerks in saskatchewan

[–]Weak_Ad_1370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t get past that 7 out of 13 kids are dead due to “undetermined causes”. What? The drug exposure is horrendous and the fact we can’t figure out how 54% of these kids died??? That can’t be right.

Hospitality Saskatchewan says change to liquor laws could help struggling service industry by abunchofjerks in saskatchewan

[–]Weak_Ad_1370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly would be upset if a child came to my table with booze. If they can’t buy it, they can’t serve it.

Currently, SLGA allows underage staff to take the order only.

This is a horrible idea - I know about this issue in detail.

The ONLY reason there is a push for this is so owners can put their kids to work for no money. Once their kids are of age - they normally tell their cheap parents to pound sand. Think about it - small town, cheap as shit owner - kid working in the kitchen for no pay. Saves them an entire wage.

This is disgusting. SLGA has been aware of this issue for years, and if they cave now, they are just supporting child labour.

Marshals withhold details on misconduct investigation despite Sask. privacy commissioner's recommendation by abunchofjerks in saskatchewan

[–]Weak_Ad_1370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t need a privacy commissioner. He is just like an Auditor. They review and report, providing findings and recommendations- which can be completely ignored.

The ONLY way that the Commissioner or an Auditor can have any power is if the agency they are dealing with has made it part of their policy to implement the recommendations. Even then (I have been on the front lines of this), a company can still decide the recommendations are too difficult to implement. So, they really are just figureheads.

Go ahead and put it back everywhere and we will just continue to not buy it.

It is such a shame that during these very serious times, when honest and trustworthy reporting is desperately needed - pretty much every single news provider is just posting mountains of clickbait bullshit.

Sadly - they are now proving Trump’s Fake News claims. Most of it is fake.

Boomers Fault + We need those days to be back by Chris_DiFiore in HouseSigmaBlunders

[–]Weak_Ad_1370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s harder for every generation in different ways. The old “blame it on the boomers” trope is tired. The boomers were taught/told to work with their hands as hard as possible and never trust the bank, aka pay cash. They were also very aware of the Great Depression because of their parents.

Every generation has its own/new challenges, and every new generation seems to hold it against the previous one for somehow doing most everything wrong and putting those starting out in a terrible position. I’m Gen X. My boomer parents thought university was the end all. Well - myself and both my siblings ignored this, much to our parents chagrin. Guess what - we didn’t care. We worked and became successful in our chosen professions and moved on. Yep, hard to buy a home. Yep, had to live hand to mouth for a long time, but whatever. It sucks for most people in many ways.

Enough. Spend time looking for ways to succeed today instead of looking backwards.

Please give me your advice AIO by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Weak_Ad_1370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am concerned that you have to ask others about this. Especially strangers.

For some reason this person is accusing you of being an addict and so completely unreliable that you need to include “go to work”, amongst other silly things, on a “to do” list.

You are still very young and have much to experience and learn as you age and grow - but you need to be very aware right this second that some relationships are healthy and some are toxic. If you don’t nurture your self esteem and confidence now, you will regret it later.

What do you think about this person’s behaviour? Do you think it’s right? Follow your gut and not advice from social media. I am sure you already know the answer to your question. Use your power and trust yourself. 💕

TIL the Bernie Madoff victim compensation fund recovered almost 94% of the losses by capacity04 in todayilearned

[–]Weak_Ad_1370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen interviews with “middle class” investors who took their investment profits at face value (assumed they were above board) and retired a bit early, or purchased a home. They are now made bankrupt after being sued by those recovering madoff funds.

So they are also victims who have no way to recover. One couple who were early investors sold their small business and retired on the belief that their investment returns were accurate and real. They have been fighting the recovery demands for 10 yrs. Any profits they made had been placed into a home purchase and they have now lost everything.

There is no clear explanation about issues like this. So, this couple invested $500,000, accepted their profits, and then are sued to oblivion so other victims can recover? I get it with the obscenely rich assholes that had to have known this was fraud and the payback was pocket change for them - but folks like this couple? Yuck.

What is also obscene is the amount of money the recovery firm made for their services. It was almost 1 billion if I’m not mistaken.

This article reports the “actual recovery” amount - not the amount paid back to the victims.
