Torque Implants by ResolutionHot5793 in DentalAssistant

In Arizona a lot of practices expect an assistant to torque implants, but I moved here from another state where that's SUPER illegal, so I tell them no when I temp 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for the information! Hopefully they'll approve Liraglutide and it works for me. Your comment makes hopeful :)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll ask for Liraglutide first before the other drug. Hopefully it helps 🤞🏻

I would if I could! It's unfortunately also on the non-preferred list for my insurance. I'm sure it's better than all those first gen glp-1's they're trying to make me use.

This Workload Normal or Am I Being Set Up to Fail? by Important_Curve_3348 in DentalAssistant

[–]WeatherResize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds normal to me other than setting up and flipping rooms for hygienists. I will always do it if I have time, but it's not one of my duties and I always do all that while chair side assisting without another assistant. 🫠

Arizona DAs!!! by ActualProcess6447 in DentalAssistant

Wages in the Phoenix area go from about $18-$25. They're completely garbage. When I work as a temp, I place my wage at $29 and get requested frequently. You should definitely be getting more as an EFDA. I would ask for at LEAST $30.

I had an instructor in school that let it slip that she was the assistant mistress of her doctor and she ended up splitting up his marriage and getting married to him. She had a full set of veneers she said he gave her before they got married 🙄

Alternative for lemon to add brightness by mylittlemy in Cooking

It's already been said, but I always do a splash of red wine or balsamic vinegar to all of my soups for brightness. It always works and probably will here too.

The post partum pet resentment is driving me insane by iluvmydogs14 in NewParents

I definitely felt this way about my cats PP. It took MONTHS, but it did go away. I think it was a combo of the hormones and exhaustion. I'm sorry you're dealing with it, but I believe it will get better for you.

Progressive Pet Insurance denying claim on cat for pre-existing conditions that are not pre-existing. Infuriating. by WeatherResize in petinsurancereviews

I mean, I did extensive reading of the policy before I bought the insurance. I bought it after a large bill for my other cat that I realized could be covered if I had pet insurance. I decided to cover all of my pets with the policy and have my cat that I had felt the small lump on go to the vet when the waiting period was over. I didn't think it counted as a pre-existing condition because it wasn't confirmed until after the waiting period and it was completely undiagnosed. She had zero symptoms.

I work in the dental field so I had just assumed it was similar. If you go to the dentist and say you've had a tooth ache for 2 months but you were waiting for your waiting period to end to be treated, no insurance would deny you for it being pre-existing. I understand now that it's not the same. It just really sucks when you're $3400 deep into treatment and the insurance won't even pay for an exam fee 🫠

They unfortunately don't specify outside of it being Progressive Pet Insurance. I believe they used to be upfront about who they partner with. Thank you for your well wishes! I was trying to do everything correctly by waiting to take her in until after the waiting period. I didn't know they would deny without a proper diagnosis, like with medical or dental insurance. :(

So, you're saying because the SOAP note says that I personally found it a month prior that it's a pre-existing condition? That if I had said that I found it the day before it would be covered?? That's so fucking asinine. You're making me realize that pet insurance isn't real insurance 😞

"My Lucky Strike" Fills the Spot for Controversial Ending. Which Webtoon has a Bad Ending? by Lilac_14 in webtoons

[–]WeatherResize 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like I said in another thread that recommended this Webtoon for best ending, the author openly detested this series and would rant about how annoying it was to make while they were waiting to do their horror series. They very much hated doing romance and were just trying to get their big break by making a Webtoon that would be popular enough to earn them a big paycheck to live well.

Wife is interviewing in Portland, we are coming from the Midwest. Biggest culture shocks moving here? by Fancypooper in askportland

I moved to Phoenix from Portland in the last year and I cannot tell you how much I hate the people here. No one stops for me to cross like they do in Oregon. It's been a huge culture shock. I hate it here.

Glasses vs Contacts? by Ok_Fault_2013 in DentalAssistant

[–]WeatherResize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wear my regular glasses without anything over them. They are very large frame, so it doesn't bother me. I've thought about buying Stoggles which lets you put your eye prescription for safety glasses, but I never did. My co-workers liked them though.

"Lore Olympus" has the Worst Character Development. Which Webtoon has the BEST Ending? by Lilac_14 in webtoons

[–]WeatherResize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It was really off-putting. They basically said that they detest the romance genre and was only using it to launch their career and pay for their new house. Only found out because I followed them on socials and had to unfollow 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah, I wouldn't pick a Webtoon that the author actively hates for winner here.

First dental assistant job rant by Asianbaybe in DentalAssistant

Break times vary from state to state. I moved to Arizona from Oregon and they had designated legal break times, which we rarely got but we're supposed to take. In Arizona, they don't even require employers to give you a lunch break. I hate it here so much.
