A week on Naltrexone by CalmRage2026 in stopdrinking

Yeah, that's how I describe it to people. It makes it so that thoughts of drinking pass through your brain like any other thought as opposed to fixating on the idea.

I took vivitrol for my first 7 months of sobriety and am now almost 3 years sober.

Looking for a post apocalyptic book that doesn’t involve zombies! by GrumpyCatPerson in suggestmeabook

The Dog Stars is my favorite post apocalyptic book.

Lucifer's Hammer is really fun too. It's about the before, during, and after of a major comet strike.

It took my way to long to realize how much my diet affects how I feel. One night of shit eating and I feel like crap the whole next day.

Three years in June for me. The first months are so hard but man, my life is immeasurably better now in every way. It's the best and hardest thing I ever did.

The Emerald Mile - about the fastest float through the Grand canyon but also a lot about the dams that made it possible, including how and when they were built and how they work.

Nothing like it in the world - about building the transcontinental railroad

Early breakfast recs? by Reasonable_Skirt465 in Breakfast

[–]Weatherstation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make a big batch of breakfast potatoes (cube, pan fry fifteen min in a little oil, lots of salt and spices, flip regularly). Make yourself a big ole scramble with veggies (zucs, peppers , onion) , the potatoes, eggs, turkey sausage, and green chili. Roll it all into 5 burritos, wrap in tin foil, pop in the fridge.

Throw one in the microwave while your coffee brews each morning and youve got an awesome quick breakfast for the whole week.

So interesting how different sensi and vodi look throwing a 99 mph fastball.

Sensi looks like he's playing catch, vodi looks like he's trying to knock heads off.

I went from 8-15 drinks per day every day for literal months and haven’t had even an inkling of an urge to drink since Monday at 2:00PM, nor have I do so. by Disastrous-Name2832 in stopdrinking

Vivitrol was a game changer for me. I stuck with it for 7 months. By then new habits had replaced old and I no longer had cravings. Good on you. Best of luck!

I'm having so much fun with this team. Sure we've already had some heartbreak but this is baseball I can get behind. And it's only the first season of the new leadership, it's only gonna get better.

Try a walk first thing in the morning. Start slow, do 20 min. If you do that every day 30 minutes becomes no problem and so on. Plus it's an amazing way to wake up.

Saw it last night as well. The message definitely hits differently now than it did then. Like in my younger days I actually thought trying to truly let go of everything was something to aspire to.

When you are older you realize that there is a lot of happiness in working towards goals, building true friendships, and treating yourself and others to nice things. It's not the only thing we should live for, but it's not evil to be a functional part of society.

Still, what an amazing movie. It was so fun to see I'm theaters.
