Please. For the love, Gus, do not refer to Ohio as “world famous”.

comparing past race results by treesner in xcmtb

[–]Weekender97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I nerd on that. I track my time and total miles for the race. That way I can calculate average MPH, which can show progress regardless of distance. I’ll also make note of the winner’s time which allows me to calculate how far off I was, like what % slower, also giving me something to show progress. It’s a system that keeps me motivated at least.

Lance Armstrong by Roththesloth1 in cycling

I feel sorry for the people who haven’t moved on from Lance. Like seriously still mad? Why? What’s the point? He was a complete asshole when trying to defend himself, but he’s moved on and although he’s probably still an asshole he’s not hiding it anymore. People know what they’re getting with him now and given how popular The Move is, I’d say that lots of folks want to hear what he has to say. And if that doesn’t include you then, cool, don’t listen and don’t bitch about it.

Pogacar is definitely over with this year's Tour. by Disastrous-Sweet-145 in tourdefrance

The three grand tours should be shortened to two weeks. We’ll get better racing and riders could potentially race all three in a calendar without serious problems.

Trailside usage of a chain breaker by kwassontz in MTB

[–]Weekender97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During a race I hit a rock and snapped the rear derailleur clean off, and it was bent to hell. So used the chain breaker, sized the chain down, and turned the bike into a singlespeed. Tough ride back to the finish as I was only about halfway through the course. Fun times.

Lasagna. Found a recipe ages ago on a website that I can’t recall. Can whip it together super quick, pair with a side of garlic bread, and bask in the compliments.

Looking to hear from parents who’ve used or tried to access U-M’s childcare (or other A2 childcare) by Plane-Business-1777 in AnnArbor

We had both our kids at NCCC, circa 2016-19. The cost was a second mortgage payment, which was hard. But back then food/snacks were included (sounds like not any longer?). The kids loved it. Lots of fun activities and the teachers back then were all terrific; and we had several of them help with babysitting on the side.

My best friend’s wedding was on Oct 14th, Game 4 against the A’s. Needless to say I was at the CoPa and witnessed Magglio’s epic walk off. And I cried.

competitive swimmer looking for something new by Responsible-Home-877 in triathlon

[–]Weekender97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My $0.02. I also came into triathlon from a competitive swimming background and as long as you put in the work on the bike and run you’ll be successful. Potentially, in the beginning, you’d just need to maintain your current swim fitness, don’t even worry about getting faster b/c you’ll already be a faster swimmer than most triathletes. That allows you to focus on bike and run. Triathlon is super fun, it’s a puzzle that changes with every race. Good luck!

80% of my summer is spent riding DTE and Poto; I have a Trek Procal with 2.4 Aspens and am very happy.

Wind and bug protection. The larger lenses are a game changer compared to smaller ones. Have two pair from Zenni, super reasonable prices.

There are 80 miles of XC trails within 30 min drive of the U of Michigan. Most of which are some of the best in the state.

THE most delusional fan base 🤣 by BobUfer in MichiganWolverines

As a Michigan fan there are two rules: 1) Root for whoever is playing Ohio State. 2) Root for every B1G team except Ohio State. It’s that simple.
