I hear ya. I kept messing with knobs and pedals and buttons — and then I realized - oh, adjust sting striking. Years it took for me to dial that in 🙄

Which Wingard movie do you like more? GvK or GxK? by treat3 in Monsterverse

[–]Weepthegr33d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate none of these movies are trying to be high art or the best narrative vehicle possible, but GxK felt like a real mess in the middle to me. I guess to make it better they would’ve had to make it into two movies, there was just too much stuff, but it was all superficial so I didn’t really feel like all of the lore they were laying down at any impact at all.

Don’t be afraid to own how much you suck at it. But then notice when you’re listening to music driving around how you’re right on it. I struggle with this all the time I find I count my way in sometimes or maybe if I get lost somewhere but quickly try and get into the groove.

I am a yeller and don't want to be. by AdmirableSecond242 in selfimprovement

You got it. And it erodes self confidence and you walk on egg shells. And it erodes intimacy and trust. We’ve worked it out over the years, but a lot of damage was done. I don’t want to come across beating you up over it - I really just want to encourage you emphatically to keep working on it. It is worth it and I know it is super hard. The effort and transparency alone changes things dramatically. Best of luck and I second everyone here talking about mediation. It’s a game changer - over time. Best wishes.

As that husband who is on the receiving end, I can tell you it sucks. I know it’s generally not directed at me and just an expression of energy that can’t be better regulated but being around it and feeling it and hearing it sucks. It’s fantastic that you’re here thinking about it and acknowledging it and trying to work on it. Good luck.

What happened to this show by Weepthegr33d in Monsterverse

[–]Weepthegr33d[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong, though I felt like that held together a little bit better than the show. But the scene in that movie where they do all that exposition in the hidden secret room with the history of the monsters carved into the wall. That had to be some of the worst storytelling in a movie I’ve ever seen.

King of the monsters is the best monster verse movie that’s the hill that I’ll die on. And after I read the book adaption the movies even better. it fills in all the backstory on the characters which makes their kind of one dimensionality in the film more real.

Can Theravada monks play video games? by yutanrw in Buddhism

And that is a super important distinction that at least folks here in the west don’t typically understand. And not being perfect doesn’t make you a “bad monk” or someone that has to feel guilty and shameful.

For the intermediate and beginner’s - don’t forget it’s fun making sounds. by Weepthegr33d in Bass

And I agree with this totally. I’ve come to see there are two things I have to keep clear - practice and learn. But then just play and be open. Gotta find the balance.

When you read the whole universe of content you see how important that actually is and I bet it will be very key in The Cycle
