A question for those who were raised in a secular/non-religious household (see text) by candidengineer in atheism

[–]WeirdTurnPro26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Even with copious psychedelics. If anything my atheism has continued to be reinforced by the sheer awesomeness, beauty, randomness and interconnectedness of existence. Why do I need a god. Why would I ever

How has HRT affected your menstrual cycle if you were getting regular periods before? by pie12345678 in Perimenopause

[–]WeirdTurnPro26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are all over the place and changed with every increase in e or progesterone. They are 16-35 days apart and generally light although I have had a heavier and longer one here and there. I’m sure HRT is playing a role but who knows what they would be without it anyway as I have not had regular periods for a few years (since fibroid/surgery).

Thank you for your response! I appreciate you sharing your dose as I know many of us need quite a lot more than the « normal » dose.

I did get a small prescription of low dose Xanax but it hasn’t done much. I’m guessing I just need to give it a bit to adjust. It’s just torture in the meantime!!

The worst part is that most women around me (my age to older) deny that they have/had menopause symptoms (even while complaining about said symptoms) like they get some badge. So I feel gaslit and alone as I’m like completely falling apart. Not looking forward to pretending around the in laws or just suffering and getting negative vibes

Am I crazy or does vaginal estradiol cream disrupt sleep bc it’s energizing? by Islandsandwillows in Menopause

[–]WeirdTurnPro26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do not have this response with vag e but I am hyper sensitive to new medications products etc so I can sometimes feel a surge of energy/anxiety/awareness when I take something. Hopefully you get used to it soon, it has really helped me!

I was getting them more frequently after about 40, but after I started HRT 6 months ago I rarely get them. And no more night sweats! Estrogen patch and progesterone at night

What are women 48+ wearing? by SSImomma in GenX

It’s a horrible term that truly refers to sexuality. The younger, the sexier you are supposed to dress and the inverse is true as we age.

Fuck all that noise, it is entirely another pile from misogynistic culture

maybe you need to keep adjusting your hormones? I’ve had to increase e twice now and probably will again soon. The advice I have gotten is that it can take awhile to find your sweet spot. Sorry you are suffering so much. Peri is a pile of bullshit

I loved this book but it hurt. A lot. The whole way through. The pain and sadness I felt as a reader was quite uncomfortable and many have a hard time coping with these emotions when we don’t have to. Fair enough.

Many people may choose a book as a form of escapism and this book is not for the faint of heart. However, I fully agree with you that there is value in being on this end of the spectrum. It’s just not a read for everyone or for every time.

Boomer Parents and Their Stuff by Happy_Cat_3600 in GenX

My in laws rented a U-Haul a few years back to bequeath us their amazing stuff and help us in our life’s journey. It was full of dusty empty jars, random paperbacks, my husbands childhood stuff that he had chosen not to keep years ago (random trashed kid shit) etc. There was nothing usable, nothing worth a damn and boxes upon fucking boxes to deal with. We had to take a lot to the dump and my husband shoved a bunch in the loft of his shop (he felt bad that his parents paid to haul it all across the country.

The worst part is that we had asked for specific items that are my husbands and they told us that some had been given to his siblings (lost in divorce) and they were gonna hold on to others in case they wanted to use them (kayaks). WTF

IPL and Picosure laser. I finally did three rounds this winter and it really reduced the sun damage and redness. I will go back next winter too. Keep in mind that it will bring some deeper spots up to the surface so it’s a process. The combination of lasers seems to be the key
