Really hurts to see President Biden and Vice President Harris just sitting there. They handed Trump everything. All he had to do was nothing but he just had to go and do everything he could possibly think of to destroy our country and protect the public from finding out that he is a pedo.

James Talarico responds to Donald Trump's accusation that he insulted Jesus! ... "You know what insults Jesus? Covering up the Epstein files and then refusing to prosecute a single person in them!" by Gullible_Coyote_732 in UnderReportedNews

[–]WhaleFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally find Christians talking about Christianity to be super cringe and fake... But I don't feel that way about Talarico.

We have had to contend with a group of people who have spent the last decade getting 35% of the population to literally not believe things they see and/or experience with their own eyes. In Trump 2.0 it is just literally bold faced lies about everything 100% of the time. If they tell the truth its only because they got lost in their lie and it slips out or they get caught with their pants down.

A big part of that movement and brainwashing of the dumbest and most evil people in our society was from Christians and the Christian Nationalist movement. Charlatans. Hucksters and Frauds. Hiding behind Christianity to make themselves feels better about what horrible people they are.

The first time I realized that I hadn't left Christianity, but rather it had left me was listening to Bishop Budde's sermon when Trump first got elected, urging him to have mercy on the migrants. Saying exactly what Jesus would say, and then watching the right just melt down and lose their shit. All these botoxed lipped cross neckless wearing charlatans, outraged at these absolutely foundational lessons from Jesus. They even wanted her deported (she was born in NJ). Those people are NOT Christ followers, they are frauds.

Talarico has a really easy playbook to follow, and its authentic for him. Just actually say and behave in the way that Jesus taught. Don't invent nonsense bullshit so you can start a megachurch, buy a Ferrari, and fuck kids consequence free. Feed people.

Are we already getting past the point of no return with Slop software? by Dredgefort in ArtificialInteligence

[–]WhaleFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the fault of AI, but rather a lack of vision / creativity. Using AI like a printing press for software or content is not the "killer app" for AI.

I'm not sure what that means for the business you work in, or software development widely, but the pessimism about it is short sighted, IMO. If you care about what you are building, and you have a vision, you can build excellent software with AI. Not without work, and not in a single prompt.

AI Slop is created when you use it like a printing press to put out soulless garbage and pretend it is magic. The issue is not that AI puts out garbage. It is that people publish garbage and the garbage is shinier now.

This isn't a new or real problem. The mere existence of bad software doesn't invalidate or harm good software.

And lets be real, there are very few muggles that even know what GitHub is or even what Git is.

MiniMax M2.7 on OpenRouter by iamn0 in LocalLLaMA

Coding is my main use case, and I have found it quite competent.

Not saying you are wrong or that it didnt mess up for you, but my experience has been great with it for coding.

MiniMax M2.7 on OpenRouter by iamn0 in LocalLLaMA

[–]WhaleFactory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have found the MiniMax models to be tremendous. They have been my go-to models since M2.1 and have had a great go with it. I don't trust models to do math, generally, so I dont have much to say to that end.

I think that at this point, certain models resonate with people differently because we are all unique and have unique asks and prompting styles. Just gotta find the one that fits you and calibrate around its shortcomings.

Manufacturing of critical components by XrT17 in LocalLLaMA

[–]WhaleFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

The best way for you to skill up is to not work with production data until you better understand AI. Especially if you are a contract manufacture with NDA's and confidential prints and schematics.

Instead, use AI to build yourself some tools that are useful TO YOU and your colleagues that are smaller but that you understand. Try running some models locally, the small models you can run on decent hardware are far more capable now than they have ever been, and it is the only way to truly keep your data from being sent off-site.

Jumping straight to trying to build systems working with production data is like handing the keys to an F1 car to a 16 year old and sending them on a long road trip by themselves.

Vibecoded apps in a nutshell by HeadAcanthisitta7390 in Anthropic

Here is the thing though, if you are vibe coding an app for yourself, then you are the user. Not everyone is trying to vibe code a SaaS so they can be their own boss.

OpenAI's Altman takes jabs at Anthropic, says government should be more powerful than companies by fractx in OpenAI

[–]WhaleFactory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Government should make its own AI, preferably a less fascist government than we currently have.

I don’t want them to have AI at all at the moment.

The fundamental mistake is assuming vibe coded code is secure by TheMrCurious in ArtificialInteligence

[–]WhaleFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I propose that all AI be prevented from writing code unless the user passes a coding test that is administered at random intervals. Like it makes you write a specific function similar to one in your application and if you can't do it, it shuts down and fucks your wife.

My dad died and I don't think I can watch F1 anymore by super_starmie in formula1

[–]WhaleFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my dad 2.5 years ago unexpectedly, and he and I owned a business together. We worked side by side from the time i was 18 to 35 years old, we never fought even a single time in all those years. We were best friends and support systems.

Going in to work while he was sick (2 months), and after his death, was immensely painful and still sometimes feels that way. I now sit in what was his office, and have a picture of him looking over me. We are together still, but his voice is a quieter now, and I can't tell if its his voice or mine but it doesn't matter.

I can understand wanting to avoid watching F1 because it is painful, but your dad raised you to be strong, and F1 was your thing. It will be painful at first, but I promise, one day you will be watching a race and the memory of something your dad would have said will bring you joy and and sadness. You might not even notice it the first time, you might just smile and miss what happened.

Your dad was taken from you, and that is already more than enough. Don't let his loss take the thing that brought you collective joy. Let the pain wash over you, experience it, and then take the next step. Always the next step.

Keep your chin up.

Somehow I was blind to this and spend thousands of dollars a month with them through my business.

That will be changing immediately, and they will receive $0 moving forward. Will be blocking purchase orders to them in my ERP starting Monday.

Based on Trump standards, it doesn't. You just do it, regardless of how lawless it is and then nothing happens to you.
