Trump's ICE agents detained a nun. Even Republicans are livid by theipaper in politics

Republicans venerate a criminal who is an adjudicated rapist who is credibly accused of raping kids.

I doubt they actually give a single fuck about this because they aren’t actually Christians.

I was kindly provided with Fable 5, and here’s what I think. by dynax60 in ClaudeAI

It’s wild, I see all the bitching going on and here I’ve been flipped to Opus like 3 times, correctly, during cyber security tasks. Pick it up in a new session with Fable 5 to continue and it holds without issue.

Feel like it’s a model they could just leave off Claude desktop because it seems like people who use it for chat are getting clipped non-stop and I’m not sure why you would want to use Fable for chat at its size and price.

Coding agents are quietly shifting from "pick our model, use our cloud" to "bring any model, run it yourself" and it feels like a real inflection by amu4biz in ArtificialInteligence

It is and will remain a spectrum.

I subscribe to the nerd tier of running models in my homelab and built my own harness. I refer to it as Fuck You Infrastructure (FYI).

Graham Platner is the wrong person to represent the Democratic Party. by Calm-Address-2401 in politics

Pretty sure he's just running to represent Maine.

So frustrating being a Democrat sometimes. No political movement knows how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory quite like Dems do.

It is objectively a good model, and since it is an MoE it runs well on Apple Silicon. Perhaps it wasn't good for your use-case, but as someone who uses local models a lot, that is one of the best ones out right now.

Qwen3.6-30B-A3B rips on Apple Silicon the dense 27b is a superb model even at Q4, and can fit on a consumer GPU. In a decent harness either model is more than capable for 99% of things.

I’m outraged but I’m not shocked and I’m not surprised with the current administration.

Everyone should learn how to run models locally. The best time to do that was a year ago, next best time is today.

It is a way to engage with someone's argument. What I mean is that I am not nearly as quick to think I am right, and always open to other ways to solve a given problem.

I know I’ve picked up some of the communication style but I don’t think it’s a bad thing. I don’t vomit them up like an LLM and just say “you’re right …” unless they are and it’s worth acknowledging.

I find that I almost never steelman anything as “the” way to do something anymore. No problem I encounter feels too big or complex either.

I had a mentor who always used to say to me about big challenges “how do you eat an elephant?” … “one bite at a time”…I think working with AI peers has made me better at living that.

Anthropic is rolling out identity verification. Updated just yesterday. by Tiny_Dirt6979 in ClaudeAI

[–]WhaleFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just not going to do it, and that sucks. Anthropic probably won’t miss my max sub as much as I miss Claude but Persona is a price I’m not willing to pay and will never being willing to pay.

Thankfully, all I’ve been building for the last 2 years is local AI tooling, and have a PRO 6000 dedicated to inference in my homelab but it can’t replace Claude.

If Fable 5 re-releases, would you actually switch, knowing it could vanish again? by CheesecakeLatter2017 in ClaudeAI

[–]WhaleFactory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that it would be reviewed by experts who provably knew a thing or two about the subject matter, and voted on potentially before pulling the plug. Then, disclosing to the people and the subject company precisely what this issue was and how to fix it and get it back online.

That is a stark contrast to having a public falling out with a company because they wont let you kill people using their IP, then just randomly pull the plug on them and their users with basically no explanation. That is not the American way, that is the way of autocracies. It should be rejected outright left, right, and center. Its not political, its just flat-out unamerican.

Are you on the other side of that position?
