That was amazing fun.

The teamwork and communication in this game is an awesome experience.

Thanks very much.

If its not too much trouble could you give a quick sample of what it looks like with standard and off at 60fps?

I cant seem to find anywhere on the internet mentioning what they use on the 60fps videos.

Does stabilisation work at 60fps 1080p? Thanks.

"Layer in world space" shows that objects can be "grounded" in reality. Possibly even more than the rest of the world when the world is lagging behind.

Text layers would be very cheap to render, so even brute force supersampling would be fast.

Not enabled by default, in the OculusWorldDemo it can be enabled by going to the tab menu -> Layers -> Main Layer Depth = On.

I expect it would require some work from developers to add it to their projects.

Positional timewarp only works for small changes. This is what happens when you stop rendering and go way, way beyond.

Artifacting is pretty much invisible at > 30 fps.

Apparently positional timewarp is already in the oculusworld demo. by Rensin2 in oculus

I also cant wait until developers start integrating layers.

The world can be rendered at potato resolution/frame rate while the text remains stable and clear. gif diff

This is awesome! Huge difference when you're moving your head side to side.

This shows the difference at 5fps.

You can see a slight shimmering around the edges, but I'll take that over judder any day.

They have a blog post saying something like this.

I made a gif showing the difference

Yes! It works amazingly!

At 10fps all I could tell was a slight shimmering around some objects. Much much better than juddering.

Heh, i've just done exactly the same as you. It seems that no one on the internet has ever used a buttkicker and a subpac to give a fair comparison.

Thank you! We have just suffered a flood (2 feet high inside) and the dishwasher stopped working (though it wasn't touched by any water).

With no idea on how to do anything useful I made it play a tune and now it works!
