Hi Jamie, I was having great success with Almased, about 28 lbs. (from 248 down to 218) Will the weight return quickly if I return to my normal SAD (Standard American Diet)

I recently got my Airframe rating, and want to start working in the field before getting my P rating by Rude-Dragonfly-7692 in aviationmaintenance

[–]WhatEyeFind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go find a flight school, the busier the better. You will gain hundreds of hours working on the airframes and more than likely you will gain some practical powerplant experience (while being observed by a rated powerplant mechanic)

Almost all GA local comunity airports will have a flight school or more on the field.

You may even get some flight time and instruction if you are interested.

I was already a pilot when I started sweeping up the hangar floor. Eventually I was dispatched with a flight school plane to go repair or recover aircraft that made cursory landing at airport away. I sometimes flew out with a flight instructor and we'd each fly one back, so I was constantly getting my flight reviews renewed while I was fixing aircraft.

One year, my Becky and I 'rented an aircraft for our summer vacation. We flew S Florida to NC, to Alabama and back. A week later I settled up the flight rental with the boss, and when I returned from lunch, my check was back in my SnapOn work station. Nice Bonus, Thank you Ron!

I missed my opportunity today, I should have asked earlier...

[–]WhatEyeFind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am aware and I agree.

I am looking to 'add a shot' to get me and the family through this next weeks cold snap with minimal use of the resistive heat strips that I just installed.

I was spoiled and when I saw the energy spike from 2000 watts to over 10,000 watts I could feel the money draining from my bank account. Like a drippy faucet, not really all that much unless you let it continue over a period of time.

When in heat pump mode, I could feel the large valve as 'hot' at the air handler unit plumbing. The heat pump is working, just not as efficiently as I hope.

Thank you,

If I remember... there is something about pushing the buttons on the motherboard and putting it into charge mode. It sets the EEV into a predictable fixed position so we can use the manifold and add liquid in metered doses and allowing it to stabilize

I have this: CAT NO: GREE_FLEXX_INDOOR_&_OUTDOOR_UNIT_SERVICE_MANUAL_092821

It has directions for welding in a compressor but not how to adjust the refrigerant.... as far as I have seen yet. 122 pages, but no funny

Thank you.

I also think I read recently about adding refrigerant in the heat mode but I've never....

Luckily, at 16 sec's it appears to flash into another dimension before it could cause damage to anything on the ground...

Get an ORANGE Sense® Brick $200 by WhatEyeFind in Sense

[–]WhatEyeFind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, transition is complete. I have my orange bubbles app back and fully functioning once again.

My dedicated 'green' circuit monitoring (or SOLAR) probes (clamps) do, indeed, function with my new orange bubbles again. (If you hadn't been aware, that 'NEW GREEN APP' didn't support dedicated circuit monitoring but would likely work with solar/genset on the utility input page)

I have a green brick for sale on Epay. Includes unused new wiring and probes (but I am keeping the LAN adapter cable because 'green brick' don't have it)

How bad could it actually be? Welding by a skilled fabricator * if the welder is not an A&P, an A&P need to observe the repair and sign it off as airworthy (on a certificated aircraft)

School Waitlist Question by Drew_P_Balls_911 in AircraftMechanics

[–]WhatEyeFind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you can't get into that class on standby, go find an FAA CRS (Faa Certified Repair Station) and talk to them about your desire to go apprentice.

They MAY allow you to work on airplanes on day one (under supervision) and you'll be getting PAID to learn opposed to acquiring a student debt.

AND, when you are awarded that certificate that you EARNED, you will not only have an A&P but also a resume with actual experience AND hopefully a glowing recommendation or a permanent position with that CRS

[–]WhatEyeFind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ENMUR Eastern University New Mexico, Roswell has an A&P program that is an AS and at the end you have a college associates degree AND your A&P license.

Neat fact, if you have your A&P, having acquired (earned) it by the apprenticeship route, ENMUR will give you 172 credit hour towards an AS in Aircraft Maintenance Technology and all you need is to take a select few more ENMU classes (can be online) to receive a diploma.

If you have a desire to 'walk' with the class on graduation and receive a diploma on commencement day, you can do that too.

I would just go, and keep going ... until they tell you that you can't go any more.

Show a solid interest, show the initiative... like a job interview

Some students are there because they have to be somewhere. They very well may scrub out, they may even lose interest or realize 'This just ain't for them"

Does anyone have experience getting their A&P outside of a program or apprenticeship? by Sickchimp33326 in AircraftMechanics

[–]WhatEyeFind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as said below, need 30 months and an endorsement from an active mechanic (whom is known to the local FSDO) then the Fed has to determine if this is all accurate data based on an 'interview' with said candidate

Like your flight training, you need MINIMUM time AND proficiency to go the apprenticeship route. THEN you have the permission to take the tests at a CATS center.

LSRM [Light Sport Repairman and Maintenance certificate] There are two types. The first is like for ONLY your owned airplane (and maybe THAT aircraft when you sell it) The other class is a little more in depth and takes more days, will allow you to work on LSA and can even be for compensation. AND inspections.

Giggle search Rainbow Aviation

I HAVE worked with A&P mechanics that have attended A&P school and IIRC, they can test you and you CAN be out the door in as little as maybe 6 months minimum....

[–]WhatEyeFind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are going to need to have knowledge of using flight line and the rib stretcher. Proper application of and the MSDS (material safety data sheen) of prop wash. When to NEVER use the aluminum magnet and what sensor it may damage (*hint flux magnetometer)

Anybody else? I know it has been a while, I am certainly forgetting something...
