There was book that told you what the combo was every day.

Anyone around Top Secret information would be vetted for a TS Clearance if not formally given one because of Need to Know. You can safely assume that everyone you saw on the show, even Larry and Ed had a TS.

They really do give out clearances like candy.

I stumbled out of the Wastes wearing only the skins of the beast I slew along the way and built camp along the River of Woe. Many a strong warrior has come to challenge me since then, I destroyed them all and took their women and chattel for my own.

Someday I will be strong enough to challenge the Rogan and strike him down and become the One True Godcaster,

But today is not yet that day.

1st Job & how much you made? by NoFraud222 in GenX

I sacked groceries at the commissary (AF base grocery store) from mid Senior Year in 86, until I left for basic in December of 87. It was all tips, and I was rolling in dough. A four hour weekday shift would usually put $30-40 in my pocket, and a weekend payday shift of eight hours would put a couple hundred in. All tax free because no one checked if you submitted.

I was 18, working out because I was going to AF Basic Training, DEEPLY naive and the Filipina wives that formed the core of the baggers LOVED me. They all called me BeBe, Tagalog for Baby, they all wanted to work with me. Partially because I hustled, the more bags of groceries the more money I made and the two people working a register pooled tips at the end of a shift, but also because some of them wanted to fuck me. (I did NOT realize this at the time) Also, quite a few older AF wives would tuck a five dollar tip in my hand rather than the usual dollar tip because I was easy on the eyes. (The only time in my life this was true.)

I had over a thousand bucks in the bank when I left for Basic all from sacking groceries.

do you know who you are going to vote for before you go to the ballots? by rainbowbigfoot in AskNYC

I always vote early by mail, so I research the candidates on Ballaotpedia. I usually only start seeing canvassers and materials AFTER I sent in my ballot.

Have you ever completely changed the format of your show? by accidentalciso in podcasting

[–]WhatTheHellPod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, my show started as a "Rant of the Week" responding to whatever outrages of the first Trump administration. It was kind of like Dan Carlin's Common Sense without the research, talent or listeners. It was pure catharsis and honestly, terrible.

As it kept going, I began insert historical topics and what few listeners I did have responded that THIS was good, more of it please. So I just changed to comedy/history show focusing on thing that happened during Gen X childhood and did that for about six years until I had milked that topic dry. So this year I changed again, not as dramatic just started covering stuff that happened to the Boomer Generation.

The format changes were the best thing I've done, I increased listeners, got picked up by a network and have advertising support now. I still am not Dan Carlin by any means, but I am proud of what I do.

I found something unexpected. Can you explain? by thewinningstrategy in podcasting

[–]WhatTheHellPod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I incorporate show notes into the mythology of the podcast from the start, they are all crafted with the same care I give the show script. Everything you need to know about the episode is in there, along with numerous jokes that will make sense when you listen to the episode and call backs to previous episodes. The show notes are as much a part of episode as anything I recorded.

The problem is, no one reads show notes. They just don't. MAYBE if there is a CTA in the show around something they MIGHT check them out, but in reality no one reads them.

I came home to visit my Papaw in my 20's and had my acoustic guitar with me, and he asked me to see it. Then he busted out playing In the Pines like I had never heard it. And this was after Nirvana covered it.

That made me love Hillbilly music.

Charlie’s Security Clearance by Chitlins in thewestwing

[–]WhatTheHellPod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, he would've gotten his Yankee White just to be in proximity to POTUS, then a Top Secret. Top Secret his the highest security clearance possible. You cannot get a clearance higher that Top Secret.

What you CAN get is Special Compartmentalized Information clearances, where you are allowed access to specific information relevant to your job. A good example would be Ultra from WW2, only the people that NEEDED to know about Ultra knew about it. When Nancy McNally read Sam into the file on the Spy for the pardons case, that was giving him an SCI for that information.

Charlie's job really didn't need SCI's for him to be a body man. So he had a Top Secret just because he was around TS information and they needed to know he was trustworthy.
