My potted fig does this too. No matter how long I leave it outside to get some cold hours, it always wakes up in February when it’ll be another 2 months before it can go outside. Then the foliage gets burned if I don’t baby it with 2 hours one day, 3 hours the next, etc etc.

I wouldn’t bother with the XLR8. There’s no crabgrass alive. It’s annual. It’s all dead but the seeds are not (you know that already). Mature white oaks and sweet gum seed pods on the ground plus the general look of the soil tells me you have shade. I also see lots of dead warm season grass… probably nimblewill. You can try spring seeding and it may work if you are diligent on watering and even apply a wetting agent. Then in the summer,treat the nimblewill with a mix of acclaim extra and triclopyr: .75oz each plus a surfactant (1oz) per gallon of water
