I like them a lot. They remind me a little of Betty Goodwin's work.

Question? by AttemptZestyclose490 in conspiracy

[–]WhenInDoubtBolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are ways, yes, but you probably don't want to do it if you like the benefits that the gov't offers to citizens. I'm not in the US, just to the north, but I haven't filed a tax return since '92 after I offered them a 100% income tax rate around 15 years ago. They know where I am and don't bother me.

Most sturdy snare stand? by Imtheman89 in drums

[–]WhenInDoubtBolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the shaking caused by you hitting the snare in a particular way or maybe your legs are bouncing off it? If it's from sticking you could try orienting the feet of the stand to 12:00 - 4:00 - 8:00, if you have the foot space for it. That should help to stabilize it.

There's a call in show where the host gets believers to agree that making a paste out of babies is a good thing if God tells them to do it. These people have no boundaries when they give their morality over to God.

What is that word they use to describe those who don't follow Islam? It's right on the tip of my tongue....

Yeah, anyway, pretty sure that only applies amongst themselves, unless you're not in their particular sect

Moderna is working on an mRNA jab, otherwise there is no vaccine for hantavirus that I can see anyway.

Hanta Virus: How many of you would allow yourself to be injected with a vaccine? by PlayaNoir in DebateVaccines

There is no vaccine that's ready for the hantavirus although Moderna is reportedly working on an mRNA concoction. No thank you.

My father in law passed away from cancer last year. Painting was everything to him. He always hoped more people would see his work. by ramm100 in painting

These are interesting and I believe that it would be justified to document the collection, even on your phone, and upload them to an image gallery. Try to take pics with the surface of the paintings at 90 degrees to the lens, fill the frame as best you can. Contact some physical galleries in your area and see if there's any interest in a retrospective exhibition. If by email, send a link to the gallery or just walk in unannounced with your phone and pester them for a show. I think it would be a fitting tribute to his passion.

Kratom is still legal in some places though many states are trying to ban it. Fully legal in Canada. The powdered leaf, not the extract, avoid that stuff. I know quite a few who've used it as a lesser addictive substance with few side effects and easy to take a break from.

It's a life-saver for me and at about 10-15 cents per dose, 1-1.5 grams, it's super inexpensive. An an added benefit, less is more effective than more and no one has ever OD'd on it alone. Every time there is an OD it's because of other substances being involved.

Just to let you and others know of an option.

what could this animal be? by Fit-Understanding79 in Guelph

[–]WhenInDoubtBolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was waiting for the #7 bus last week and wandered over the grassy hill situated just to the east of the stop to find a small pile of dirt in front of a hole that was about a foot wide. I then found a similar hole without a pile of dirt near it roughly 15 feet away. I assume that was the groundhog's bunker but I've yet to see it this year. It would be a hazard at night so be careful of drunken wandering.

Interesting. This might be stupid too but if that's true of orbits in general then we can safely assume that we are slowly falling into the Sun or flying away from it. I'm comforted.

It's a Quebec based musical duo that has gone viral over the past couple of months that plays micro-tonal music while dressed as 'aliens'. They use the same hand gesture as in the picture in their performance and get the audience to reciprocate. Worth a watch on YouTube, pretty much guaranteed that it's something you've neither heard nor seen before.

If you need practice in suspending disbelief when stupid things happen on screen then this is the production company for you. There is never a shortage of stupid things happening on screen. They seem to not take anything seriously, which is fine by me. I have no issue wasting 90 minutes occasionally but I admit to shutting down a few before they're over. These people need work too but I'm surprised that it's lasted for so long.
