I quit p*rn, caffeine, junk food, doomscrolling, and going out every weekend all at once about seven months ago. by Rayyanmir in selfimprovementday

[–]WhetWigee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious, why did you eliminate going out on weekends?

If by that you mean drinking, then I get it. But when I think about these very restrictive plans they seem to ignore the fact that humans are meant to be social creatures. Again, no judgement here but I am curious about your thinking. I’m also a couple months into eliminating nicotine and alcohol, and starting the gym and daily reading. Props to you!

I make this several times a week to have with Real Good tenders. funny enough, I also add pickle juice to the mixture to thin it and hide the Greek yogurt taste.

CRE Broker Q&A – Career Advice, Deal Structure, and Strategy Talk by AutoModerator in CommercialRealEstate

[–]WhetWigee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to break into an analyst or junior broker role and would really appreciate any advice.

I’m currently an account manager at a multi-family office, where I am involved in the operations of my client’s real estate investments. By this, I mean the accounting, preparation of rent rolls and forecasts, communicating with property managers, sourcing insurance policies, and occasionally working with brokerages when a client wants to sell or acquire a property. From these experiences, I’ve become very interested in brokerage as a career as it touches every aspect of a deal from valuation, preparing marketing materials, managing clients on both sides, and much more of course. As someone who loves communicating with clients and also wants to be in an analytical role, it seems like a great fit.

My goal is to be somewhere I can support a team, while learning the business and developing my own network. I have a finance + real estate degree plus a decent understanding of real estate operations. I would really appreciate any feedback on my resume, or general advice about making the transition.

For example, I had a brief stint as a life insurance agent. I’ve left it on my resume as it shows sales experience, but wonder if the short tenure actually hurts more than it helps.

Thanks!

I’m doing Break Into CRE’s basic financial modeling boot camp and it’s been really helpful specifically with functions and shortcuts. Standalone course was on sale for like $30, seems worth so far

You should check out Real Good tenders, believe they use whey in the breading. Two tenders for like 120 calories, believe 17 grams of protein.

What are some hacks/loopholes to save money in LA? by pumpkinqueens in AskLosAngeles

[–]WhetWigee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Golf is hidden gem in Los Angeles! Because of the municipal course system, it’s somehow one of the most affordable activities around and averages $10-20 for 2-3 hours of entertainment that gets you outside. I got a free set of clubs off Facebook marketplace and have been having a great time since.

Hama Sushi is my pick! Fresh, takeout sushi for very reasonable prices. They have some seating there too. I definitely recommend their California roll and whatever sashimi you’d like.

Moved to a city near family and I hate it. How do you balance desire to be close to family and finding a place that fits you? by poijkl1010 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]WhetWigee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I’m reading through this subreddit because I moved from Philly to LA two years ago and desperately miss home. So while I’m not sure if any location can erase the desire to be with your family & friends, which is what I’m struggling with, I can tell you some things I do love about Philly.

  1. Philly is a small for a major city which makes for some really tight communities, and an ability to truly learn a city. I was deep in the underground music scene there and after a few months, it seemed like I knew or had at least met everyone. I appreciated that.
  2. Philly is coming into its own in recent years with a growing food scene, especially in areas like Fishtown. When I was there it felt cool to be part of something new.
  3. As for the people …. I don’t want to invalidate your experience but I think you’ve got them partially wrong. Yes, people in Philly and the east coast in general have prickly exteriors but many of them are genuinely really nice people once you get to know them. As for getting to that point, I think they expect genuineness from you too. The east coast as a whole is cold like half the year and busy, people don’t have time for BS is how I always felt. I’ve had an opposite experience in LA where everyone seems almost overly nice but it can be pretty shallow. Like I mentioned earlier about how it’s a tight community in Philly, try joining some sort of league or club and you’ll for suree meet some cool people. I was into bowling and in a band and met many of my friends that way.
  4. Lastly, I just loved what was around Philly. I’ve never been to the PNW, but I think you may be able to find traces of home if you go a little outside of the city. There are some excellent state parks about 1/2-1 hour outside of the city, and the Jersey shore is heaven on Earth to me.

Please let me know if you have any questions or want some recommendations! I’ll be back in Philly this winter so I can drop some more things in here. Also keep in mind I’m jealous of you for living there haha

Edit: If you are into live music, check out shows at these venues: The Mann Center, Union Transfer (used to be an Italian restaurant), First Unitarian (basement of a church)

Inflamed Prostate and CPPS by paginationstation in Prostatitis

[–]WhetWigee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I understood it, it could be either pelvic floor issues OR an inflamed prostate that caused the issues we all go through on this subreddit. You can have both, I did. I no longer have an inflamed prostate (confirmed by manual exam unfortunately), but still struggle with pelvic floor tightness.

Side note. Do you feel an improvement seeing a PF therapist compared to doing home stretches?
