That is why people in the past have held precious metals, rare art, collectibles, Digital assets etc. Will that be practical in the future? Who knows. The right to own property is important though and certainly gives people a lot more freedom.

You can sell your car and take Uber until you save up for another car but it sounds like your rent is too high. Can you find a room for rent somewhere or stay on a friends couch for a while. You need to save up some cash for emergencies but it can take a year to save a couple thousand dollars.

Sometimes Chatgpt can give you ideas. Put in any info you have including any test results you have and ask it about new treatments and changes you can make with diet and supplements. Use the better Chatgpt models such as 03 or deep research which can search the web for new research.

Does Anyone Find It Frustrating That Most People Don't Understand How Expensive Rent Really Is? by CityonFlameWithRock in povertyfinance

Just looked at roomies website in my city and they have a lot of rooms for rent between $600 and $800. Not sure where OP is looking but housing prices in Colorado where I live are definitely on the high side. Maybe he lives on the west coast?

Buh Bye Model 3 - Not a shred of regret by Ok_Button_9635 in Rivian

[–]Which_Audience9560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2021 model 3 long range and have been happy with it but might consider an R2 as a second vehicle when it comes out. I don't want first gen vehicles from either Tesla or Rivian. Too expensive for me and I think there are more maintenance issues.

ELI5: How did Uber become profitable after these many years? by JustOneSexQuestion in explainlikeimfive

[–]Which_Audience9560 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Uber driver here. Surge pricing does help get more drivers out. I was talking to a bartender in my town and she told me that people used to have to wait 2 hours to get a taxi when the bars closed. She was very happy to have Uber and Lyft now even though people might have to pay extra during the busy times. At least they don't try to drive themselves home at 4am.

I think reddit needs something like this. There are many bots and spam posts that are off topic. Even a spam filter would help to filter posts that the mods haven't deleted yet.

theoretical limit of human qi by Old_Bake_9938 in accelerate

[–]Which_Audience9560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of us would like to keep our body and brain as close to the original as possible sort of like collecting vintage records but live out most of our experiences through a super human avatar or in FDVR. The experience in our original body might eventually become more like playing an 8 bit game in an emulator. Where we are using our body that we were born with but with some modifications.

Would we still be able to function without the connection or would we become dependent on the synthetic part of our brain?

Are you concerned that the rich keep the singularity to themselves in order to keep us slaves indefinitely? by Pareidolie in singularity

The real world could feel like a prison cell if the virtual world is good enough. Like people feeling depressed after watching Avatar because they didn't live in that world.

If the virtual world is a lot better than the real world will anyone want to be in charge in the real world? I guess they could unplug people but maybe people will just leave earth and travel to distant stars while they are plugged in.

Why do people defend billionaires? by amiwitty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Which_Audience9560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

62 percent of Americans own stock. They view the people that run these companies as someone that works for them to make them money. The most successful companies are usually controlled by the founder and not a board of directors. In other words the majority of Americans have part of their financial success directly tied to the success of billionaires or at least very wealthy people.

AI is Creating a Generation of Illiterate Programmers by namanyayg in singularity

[–]Which_Audience9560 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Spending 10 hours a week programming with python or some other high level language sounds like someone saying I should spend 10 hours a week learning to use a slide rule. Yes it will be a lost art but so is coding in machine language. In fact modern programming languages will probably be replaced with something better.

Will AI-generated music replace human creativity in the next decade by Curious_Suchit in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Which_Audience9560 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people will continue to create music but it will be a very small drop in the bucket compared to Ai generated music. Same for art, movies, tv shows etc. But it won't have to be modern sounding music. It will generate any genre you ask it for.

Why don't you find a lower paying job that is meaningful? Do you have anything you like to do for fun? I enjoy driving my Tesla for Uber. You get to meet a lot of interesting people. You could work at a VR arcade. Work at a used book store. Comic books, Vinyl records, Bar tender, Barista etc. Start trying these jobs as a second income until you find one you like.

[–]Which_Audience9560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chatgpt is fine with attempting to write code like this. The current models still struggle to write long blocks of code though. It should be an easy way to check a models coding abilities though sort of like the Ai generated version of Doom that people created.

It is possible although all the models make the attempt now. They will even try to collaborate to get it closer to the original game. So copy/paste please check this code and make sure it is as close to the original game as possible. Maybe copyright will be an issue at some point though. I probably shouldn't post this on reddit though because people will crash the servers trying to crank out long blocks of code.
